San Manuel

I havent played there in awhile, but I was wondering if anyone knew if they are running any other No Limit games now besides 2/5 NL.

Also, when are they going to start running tourneys?

Re: San Manuel

The last time I was there, about 2 months ago, the only NL was 2/5.

I went about 2 years ago and don't think they even HAD NL. It was a nice casino so maybe I'll go back now that they do. I won over $300+ in their 3-6 game though. Fun times.

Re: San Manuel

They do have the 2/5 NL all the time now apparantly. Unfortunately it seems to have killed the 9/18 limit game, which I would have tried if it had been going.

didn't know there were any san man regs on here.. I used to play there a lot.. now very rarely.. you probably at least know my father dave if you play the NL.

everyone else.. fwiw i have never seen a softer 2/5 nl game regularly spread.. 300 max buy in though (100 min)

Re: San Manuel

SM spreads a couple of 2/5 100-300 NL tables, some 2/4 and 3/6 limit and 3/6 and 4/8 stud. Figure 1-2 tables of the limit games, maybe 1 table of the stud games. 15 minute wait times. No plans to add tournaments; closer alternative for tournaments is Morongo.

Yeah, it's toward Morongo, but I think it might be a few minutes closer coming from L.A. We took the 10E and at some point had to go North(I think) on some smaller freeway. I can't really remember but I'm sure a search on Google will get you there of course.

Is the 2/5NL usually a full 2 tables at all times? How is it on weekends? If it emptied out the 9/18 I would guess a lot of limit players converted? Yummy! I think I need to take a trip out there again, I've been away too long.

I dont play 2-5 all that much. In fact very rarely. I did remember a local they called "old man dave". He was quite hilarious and always berated the dealers. There is one other dave but i don't think i saw him at the 2-5 tables.

Its kind of hard cause i tend to frequent SM on my bored nothing to do Fr-Sat nights. Occasionally I will drop by in the morning where you get the locales.

Only old man dave pops out in my mind.

I haven't paid much attention but i think at least 2 2-5 games were running. One of my good friend's brother is running up a good roll in the 2-5 game. I prefer limit. Last friday highest one running was the 6-12. But something might have run later, but I left 8-9 ish so...maybe not.

Mainly I play the stud games whenever I can, I haven't played much since i started working.

As far as the whole area goes. Morongo and Pechanga have horrible 15 minute blind tournaments. They are hardly worth your time. Not sure on how Soboba/Spa are like...but whenever i visited there i vaguely remember looking at their tournament blind structures and they were 15 minutes.

Re: San Manuel

Just google mapped SM and Morongo, SM is like 20 miles closer. If I decide to head out there just for a change of pace, I'll definately hit SM instead. Sometimes I go with my mom though and she likes to play slots. Morongo has all the college chicks there too so that's a plus.

I remember when I was there, there was a Stud game right next to my table. I didn't really play Stud then, but the game looked ridiculously loose. Eventually the game broke and they all came to my limit table and played really bad. I'm sure you did pretty well in that Stud game if what I saw was any indication.

yeah goto San Man. if you have the roll or want to take a shot the 15/30 kill game is sweeet. it's the opposite of hard. the players at san man are basically terrible. the stud game is loose and fun, but it seems they are slightly better than what you will see at basically any other table except maybe the one 6/12 game they have going.

play 15/30 or 2/5nl the 4/8kill games are super good too.. only play 3/6 if you are on a really short roll, and don't play 2/4.

From what I've been told it's up to the discretion of each tribe... they can have 18+ rooms but some choose not to do it.

No Problem. There might be more to it... I'm sure someone will chime in if they know more.

I'm glad you like TPA. I hope you find it useful when you travel.

Re: San Manuel

Pechanga and San Manuel agreed to move to 21+ when they built their expansions-- in both cases, it was negotiated with the local comunities in exchange for road upgrades, signals, etc. Morongo is still 18+ becuase there is no local community. There's the "resort" and an outlet mall, and a whole lotta desert.

San Man is rather busy for a non-LA room-- on a weekday afternoon, it is common to have 3 2/4 tables, 3-4 3/6, 5-8 4/8, 1 6/12 and 50% chance of a 15/30. 4/8 and bigger are full kill. Rake is rebated to $1+$1 if the pot is 5sb or smaller (not sure of this below 4/8). On weekends, all 30 tables are in use roughly 4pm-4am. I would say there are 3 NL tables going midweek more often that not.

9/18 is dead- as mentioned, 2/5NL killed it. I spoke with the floor last week, discussing changing the 6/12 to 8/16; they considered it seriously, but too many 6/12 players opposed it (the ones in favor were mostly the 15 regulars who sit in the 6 waiting for a seat or the game to go).

Morongo has almost no limit action. 4/8 goes only on weekends, and 1-3 $100 NL outnumbers all limit games combined most of the time. A weekend will have something like 3 2/4's, 5 3/6's, and 10 1-3NL with one 2-5 uncapped. Nothing like seeing an 18 yr old with $10k cash behind his stack.
