What\'s in your bag?

Driver - r7 from 2-3 seasons ago, would like to replace it next year.

http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...vard420/r7.jpg

3 wood - Taylor Made V-steel
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...420/vsteel.gif

Irons- I have an old school DCI 2 iron, 3-PW are Titleist 690 MBs. Very solid, and feel great.

http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...d420/690mb.jpg

Wedges - Vokey 53* and 58*. I've had them for 4 seasons now, and you can tell the grooves are not as sharp as they used to be. Still like them but will likely replace soon.

Putter - Odyssey white steel 2 ball.

OP. Those Titleist's look smooth. How would you compare them to other manufacturers forged blades? Playability, Feel, etc.

I would say Mizuno mp 14 would be the most similar blade that I've hit, but I have not actually tried many other forged blades. A friend had a set so I used his a few rounds, loved the look/feel of them, so I bought some. Poorly struck balls with these really thin blades are gonna feel like crap, and be further from the target than 90% of the other clubs out there. But when you do strike it solid it feels like butter and has a nice penetrating flight.

Re: What\'s in your bag?

I had all my clubs custom made about two to three years ago and only got to use them 5 times before my injury so they're a bit dated but in GREAT shape. I am just now getting back into the swing of things. I know there's more then 14 clubs listed but obviously different courses have different demands.

Driver - Mizuno Blue Rage 350 9* (I really miss my Orlimar 6* deep face)

Woods - Dunlop Surpass 3 and 5 wood, came with an old set I had Orlimar woods for a while but the shafts weren't stiff enough so I just went back to these for now.

Irons - 2 iron: Mizuno T-zoid Sure, 3-9 iron: Mizuno MP30

Wedges - PW: Mizuno MP37, SW: Mizuno MP 56-08, LW: Purespin diamond face 60*, HLW: Dunlop 64*

Putter - Dunlop surpass blade, I also have a left handed Silver Ray mallet putter that I use when I have putting problems.

I was kinda hoping you mention the 14's. Played a few rounds with them years back in HS and loved them. I still routinely check Ebay for a good deal on them, but they always seem to be ridiculously worn out. This might be a good alternative. Thanks.

I use a Yes! Marylin putter and love the weight and balance of it. As for the "patented c-groove technology"... I'm not sure what it does if anything but my balls in general roll well off this thing.

SlyGuy 08-02-2007 12:19 AM

Re: What\'s in your bag?

The C Groove on the Yes! putters gets the ball rolling sooner, less skidding. I have a Yes! Olivia and I quite like it.

Re: What\'s in your bag?

Picked up a White Hot XG #9 on Friday. Immediately felt more confident over short putts and drained two ten to fifteen foot birdie putts on the front nine.

I think I lust after a Yes! Sophia, though:

http://img524.imageshack.us/img524/4668/sophiapx0.jpg

The only reason I didn't buy the Sophia was that I think I want to custom order one with a 37" shaft - the longest one the shop carried was 35".

I don't think I've ever carried a true heel-shafted putter before, but so far I'm a big fan.
