Any details on the game mentioned in DN\'s blog?
DN blog
"Well, I quit at 2:00am when the game finally broke and only one player outside of the original 9 played. It was a mixed bag of players, from celebrities to Hollywood big wigs... Erick Lindgren Kenny Tran ...I ended up winning almost 1300 bets in the game! That’s a huge win in a 16 hour session." Glad to hear he has more money to lose on the golf course. |

Re: Any details on the game mentioned in DN\'s blog?
"He called out my cards (as well as many other players on the day) in a bizarre situation that’s either extremely lucky or super advanced. I won’t share with you the “why” he put me on the following hand, but here it was: The flop was Jh 5s 3d. A player in front of me bet into me in a five way pot after raising before the flop and I called. Kenny, right then and there, put me on 5-7. The turn was a Jack, my opponent bet again and this time I raised him. He folded… I had exactly 5-7! That might not seem all that amazing in and of itself, but if you watched him do it over and over, you’d see that it wasn’t a fluke. He picked up on something and his “radar” was dead on."
Lol at being able to call out exact two cards. |
Re: Any details on the game mentioned in DN\'s blog?
Does anyone else know much about Kenny Tran? Players at Commerce tells me that he's the best players in Commerce but it seems like he's well respected in Vegas also. Anyone know how he started out?

Re: Any details on the game mentioned in DN\'s blog?
I've played live 20/40 to 100/200 NL with Kenny Tran before, he's done some really good stuff, and made a few not so good plays, but never seen him do anything real crazy except the time when he went apeshit bluffing clownfish on Cash Poker and showed a big bluff, overall not the fish at the table obv?

Re: Any details on the game mentioned in DN\'s blog?
Thought this was interesting:
" Not a nasty comment all day to a player or a floor man, but most importantly, not one dealer ever experienced even the faintest amount of verbal abuse from anyone in the game and that was a pleasant change of pace. " Guess some players in the Big Game give the dealers a lot of crap, then? (Seem to remember something a while back about pissed off players throwing their cards at the dealers to try and cut their hands?) You think they'd be more sanguine since they're mostly so experienced at high stakes... |
Re: Any details on the game mentioned in DN\'s blog?
I was at the Bellagio playing on Saturday afternoon, DN was playing in the only game in Bobby's Room at the table closest to the glass. Lindrgen, Tobey Maguire, and Jeffrey Katzenberg were also people playing that I recognized.
Nikki Hilton played at my table ($2/5 NL) for about 2 hours. I asked her nicely to stop talking/IMing on her Iphone while she was in a hand b/c she was making the game super slow. She just glared at me and finally stop when I asked the dealer to declare her hand dead a few hands later. I didnt even realize it was her until the guy next to me told me. |

Re: Any details on the game mentioned in DN\'s blog?
Probably Katzenberg. When you've got that much money running a high stakes bluff is probably a little easier.

[/ QUOTE ] thats so sick. those are games you just have to be a celeb to get into tho, maybe ivey would get an invite every once in a while but the hollywood big wigs and old bel air money like to keep it in their circle, and play for fun, the stakes are just so fken big. what i would do to get into one of those games. its funny tho cuz my bro was at ben afflecks house about 4 years ago and said matt damon and some other fools were just playing online poker the whole time. |
Re: Any details on the game mentioned in DN\'s blog?
its says that it was a NL cash game.
so 1300 BETS = 1300 BIG BLINDS? either way, 1300 is pretty sick |

Re: Any details on the game mentioned in DN\'s blog?
1.3kbb+ / 16 hours = 81.5bb/hour
bb = 100$ he is making 8k/hr (thats a kiddie game though) bb = 600$ he is making 48k/hr All it takes is to win 1 pot while deep. I mean if they are each 500bb deep, and villain dosnt give a [censored] if he loses .01% of his net worth, it is conceivable. Maybe they were playing 5/10 NL and were all like 10k bb deep? |

Re: Any details on the game mentioned in DN\'s blog?
He might be telling the truth, I'm not saying that. Although it's well known DN talks the most BS ever and is one of the biggest liars/exaggerators in poker.
But well done if he did win 1300bb |

Re: Any details on the game mentioned in DN\'s blog?
i played with mr Spiderman about 2 years ago in 10/20 nl. we didn't play long (i booosted) but he seemed way too tight. Can't say much about his postflop game. Its also very possible that he has improved a lot in these 2 years.
so is Kenny Tran >> DN in no limit? is there even an argument? |
