ESPN First Take

Is anyone watching this? It's extremely entertaining to see Stephen A. Smith vs. Skip Bayless. They have had a plethora of topics to discuss, including Vick, KG, Bonds, ARod, Ripken, Gwynn etc.

Stephen A. is really chewing apart Bayless, especially when it comes to Vick and basketball. Bayless said that Minnesota with Jefferson and Green would be a contender in two years, as well as that Duncan on Minnesota over the past 5 years instead of KG would be NBA champions. Stephen A. went to town on those comments.

The only thing is, Stephen A. came off as borderline mentally ill when he just kept on saying re: Ripken's streak: "All he did was show up to work" about 1000 times.

I can't watch that show most of the time without thinking about Crawford groping an assistant or cohost or something, so adding Stephen A. to the mix really makes me avoid it.

Pretty confident that he is now on Chris Russo level, if not lower.

Don't know. His show was canceled.

You mean I can finally see Jay Crawford, Skip Bayless, and Stephen A. Smith all together on the same segment!

I don't even hate on announcers and analysts (or are they "personalities"?) to the degree that most on this board do, but that trio is like the Perfect Storm of suckitude.

I didn't think SAS was that bad when he only did basketball. Skip Bayless is just hilarious, nobody ever levels like that guy, it's like he intentionally tries to take the most moronic opinion possible. The guy simply cannot be serious.

I'm convinced this is his MO, and it dovetails nicely with the "When did Sportscenter become unwatchable?" thread.

Wha wha what??!!! Stephan A is blindly defending black people and criticizing white people??!! And he's pretending to be the most knowledgeable person in the whole world in regards to the NBA??!!!

You're just pulling my leg now.

(I knew there was a reason I never watch this or either of these assclowns)

Stephen does a pretty good job on NBA analysis some of the time. I actually don't mind him as much as you guys seem to on other sports.
I haven't been watching him as much these days though nor have I been watching First Take. I gave up on the show back when they called it Cold Pizza.

What's the story about Crawford groping someone?

Re: ESPN First Take

Bayliss is a real life troll. He clearly doesn't believe what he says and just takes contrary positions to get attention/ratings/have debate.

Smith actually is tolerable if somebody would tell him that the yelling bit destroys his crediblity. Why ESPN went with a guy with such caustic delivery for their default opinion on everything I will not understand.

At what point was he "blindly defending black people"? Sounds like you have quite the agenda yourself.

This must been your first time watching the inane ramblings of Mr. Bayless, no?
