Perfect perfect beat

1-2 NL, villain raises to 12, I pick up 8s so I call. Two other callers. Board is 7 8 3 rainbow. Villain bets 40, I make it 100, others fold.

Stack sizes preflop were 400 for me, 500 for the villain. Turn comes a 10. I make it 200. Villain thinks FOREVER, almost mucks it, then throws out a huge sigh and calls. River is a J. I put in the rest of my stack.

Villian calls and turns over 99 for a perfect perfect straight. Trying to think if there was anything I could've done differently. Maybe going all-in on the turn might've priced him out, but it would've only been another $90.

Maybe it wasn't perfect perfect but it was pretty close. I don't even consider the two outer for a 9. He had to get running cards to win. Like I said, on the turn I would've only had $90 more to bet. Maybe he would've mucked, but most wouldn't even call the raise on the flop.

hint he also could have gotten a 9, or 10 6, or 6 5, or maybe a flush but you left out the soots which are pretty important in poker

yeah, i mean, why would you consider a 9. thats just silly. claim bbj, grab the pot from the table and run out, stab villain in the parking lot with a fork is the only correct course of action here.

yeah man i had QQ vs AK once and the flop came J29 and the turn was a T and the river was a Q. perfect f'n perfect. the A's and the K's don't even count as outs because, come on, they didn't even come.

Re: Perfect perfect beat

here's an example of perfect-perfect:

a few months ago i got AA all in on a AJ6 rainbow flop. i was up against A6o and it came out turn 6 river 6.

perfect-perfect is when there are only 2 cards in the deck and you need both of them to come out. one of them has to hit on the turn and then the other on the river.

Re: Perfect perfect beat

yes, the hand was pretty cool.

a real perfect perfect, for ex:

hero: JJ, villian: 66

board: J9266, preferable with all the money going in on the flop.
