in vegas my id is in my pocket at all times, you need to show it to register for any tournament. or any kind of food comp for the players card or gift. at least once or twice a day sombodys gotta check an id. now if she forgot it and left it at room or something fine, but i cant see too many people without id in thier possesion when playing poker or gambling.

I hate Crown Casino with a passion. No one in there as any idea whats going on. Worst dealers in the world, but its the only legal place in Melbourne to play live poker for money.

I could go on and on about horrible things that have happened in the Crown poker room, but I'm going to save myself some stress. I hate that place.

I don't mean to be a nit, but after investigating this issue extensively two years ago, I came to the fairly firm conclusion that you can play poker for money just about anywhere as long as the house doesn't take a rake.

On Day 1C (i think) of the WSOP ME I happened to be walking in to the convention center (from the back parking lot) when I saw Shannon Elizabeth coming from valet. I slowed down so I could catch a glimpse of her 'assets' and followed her up the stairs and into the main hallway.

As you guys know the hallway was blocked off, forcing players and spectators to go through the lifestyle show. She tried to get through the blockade and was denied from the security guard. She did not argue more than 2-3 seconds, and as she was walking away, she said under her breath, this is so stupid.

Lol, i like crown and i find the dealers to be quite compitant...i dunno why you're complaining about bad players (if you are), but every time i've been the process has been very quick and proper.

Thats news to me, though the couple of poker rooms I know of in Melbourne take rake plus you have to pay an entry fee. I was 99.9% sure they werent legal.

Everyone i run into at crown apparantly read the TR and constantly jokes with me "Hey! why don't you go say hi to your good buddy shannon?" hahaha!"

I just try to avoid the whole situation as i've learned my lesson about getting involved with drama and i think i reacted to the situation pretty poorly, unfortunately the poker room is small and avoidance is hard. Yesterday she saw me and grabbed her friend and started pointing/whispering/glaring etc. I'm just gonna lay low.

I made a number of inquiries to the Victorian Casino & Gambling Regulator (whatever it is called) when I was involved in an organisation running a small game (10c/20c blinds) for up to 100 people a night.

They consistently told me and others that it was fine as long as we didn't take a rake.


Crown has a monopoly license for casino operations, so I'm fairly confident that other operators are not legit.

Actually, this year in victoria another casino is allowed to open. Crown had a deal with the gov. that for 10 years after its opening they HAD to have a monopoly and i believe those 10 years have either just passed or are about to.
However i doubt that any other casino will open up, but it would be nice

I've never heard of the Richmond game, I've played at a Dandenong game twice that was $10 entry fee $5 hourly table fee and rake. They had about 20 tables set up. I played $1/$2nl, with a $60-$200 buyin. I have no idea what other games they have there or how high the games go. I'm probably never going to go there again because last time I was there I was hearing stories of brawls and the like. Plus the guys that ran it were really seedy and made me uncomfortable even though I was there with 2 other people.

The other one I know of is in Carlton, I've never played there but a good friend is a regular. I really don't know much about the Carlton game apart from it having an entry fee and rake but no hourly fee.

I was taken to Dandenong by the same guy that plays in the Carlton games, I'll get the addresses and info and PM you if your interested.

They carded anyone who looked even close to 25 when I was there. Even when I was being escorted by the casino manager.
