Set in 3-bet pot....min-raise ftw?

Messed this one up pretty bad. FPS anyone?

Villain is a bit nitty at 16/14 over a decent sample. PF call is marginal at best...but his 3-betting range is really narrow here FWIW.

Who hates the min-raise? After he called, I was like 99% sure he had an over-pair...so I decided to check and shove most rivers.

Yeah...I agree. Which is why I checked. This guy seemed capable of finding a fold w/ an over-pair here.

Fold PF. Make real flop raise. As played get money in on turn because he won't think you have a set or a 5.

PF is close, but yeah - raise flop harder and bet turn ftw.

I'd raise the flop to around $45-50 and get AI on the turn. As played.....still AI on the turn.

Fold preflop.

Since you didn't, push flop.

Since you didn't, bet $30 on the turn and push river.

fold pf
make a real raise on the flop. AI on turn.

With so many draws out there I would raise more on the flop and pray that villain puts it in with an overpair before any scare cards come that might let them get away from their hand.

Re: Set in 3-bet pot....min-raise ftw?

Well, he insta-called w/ QQ...but I definitely messed this one up pretty bad. My reasoning for the min-raise was that it left slightly less than a PSB left, and he's almost forced to call at least once w/ an overpair leaving him nearly "pot stuck". Given my image, I also thought he might make a frustration shove w/ AK thinking he had some FE.

I was also planning on shoving almost any turn...but the 8 made the board scary enough to where I think he can find a fold. Given the texture of the board...I agree I should have popped the flop bigger or just shoved. Thanks guys.
