Stacks $400 Hero raise $14 with A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] on CO, only BTN calls. Flop: 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] I bet $22, BTN raises to $70, I raise to $180, he calls Turn: 9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Hero? Also should I just call his raise on the flop? |

Re: 3-bet flop w/ draw now what? NL400
What I dont see happening ALOT is that the villan calls w/ the action on that flop, and then folds getting 3 to 1 on his money, which takes away alot of the needed fold equity that makes this type of hand so valuable. That being said, I think that there is enough money in the pot, that if you were to shove the turn, youre getting close to the right price vs most of his range So as played I think a shove is rougly a breakeven play. I think the best play is to shove the flop, get it in when you prob have 45 percent equity. Force him to make a tough call, bad fold, or flat out bad call with something like a worse flush draw. If this guy was a known nit, I would say that calling the flop raise and then check folding when you miss the turn is prob the best decision.

Then we have to push hands like AA/KK/sets too?
Or can we wait pushing those hands until he knows we push draws? |
Re: 3-bet flop w/ draw now what? NL400
this board isnt a bad one to bet/3bet any set or AA/KK simply b/c its so standard to push a draw here

Re: 3-bet flop w/ draw now what? NL400
I quite like a stack-a-donk here, but how you played is fine.
Push turn obv. |
Re: 3-bet flop w/ draw now what? NL400

Re: 3-bet flop w/ draw now what? NL400
Call flop then CRAI the turn. Some times he'll check through and you see a free river. I'll often take this line with made hands as well.

Re: 3-bet flop w/ draw now what? NL400
I dont like the stack a donk here, i dont think our hand wins at the showdown often enough for it to be profitable when it checks all the way through on turn and river. unless we know we can craise the turn.

sorry i think i misread what you were saying. I didnt see you flat called the raise on the flop in your example foosh. Still dont love it though.
