How long before PNL is in regular bookstores?
 

Curious, I searched and couldn't find it... would like to know if I should just order online now or wait a couple days and my local B+N will have it.

According to their website, Barnes and Noble will have it available on the 27th(tomorrow).

Unless someone here works for a B&M store there is no way to know when they will make it though the supply chain.

It might be a stretch for it to come out tomorrow since all of the bookstores I have been to recently only seem to want to stock the new Harry Potter book.

I preordered from Amazon and no sign of shipping for me (still says shipping August 6-10).

My trip report on B&N this morning via phone.
First and closest store said they had one coming in and it was preordered.
Second Store said they have four coming in. I reserved one there.
Neither store could tell me if that meant they came in today or were shipped today.
I personally have never tried to get a book on release date so I am not sure the Norm for this. I am in Houston so if it does come today and she calls me back i will post here.

I ordered from Amazon on the 11th. It originally said ship 24th-27th. Then on the 21st it changed to 28th-31th and on the 24th changed to August 20-27th. I canceled the order and ordered from ProfessionalPoker this morning.

For you people that said amazon shipped thursday, when did you order?

Blech... I had a copy ordered at my local B&N and I was told it would be in today... went on my lunch hour to see if it was available and I was told they do not have it stocked in ANY B&N warehouse anywhere in the USA yet and the new expected date is August 9th... I have some money on a gift card which is why I wanted to get it at B&N...

I ordered it on July 8th with a shipping date of July 25th and delivery estimate of July 28th-31st. It shipped on the 26th with August 3rd as the estimated arrival date. I usually get my Amazon orders 2-3 days before the arrival date and I hope this one is the same. Can't wait!

I can confirm what Wubbie said. I called my local BN (SE Wisconsin) and she said that no BN in Wisconsin were carrying the book today and that she did not know when it would be available.

That sucks man. I ordered PNL and the SNG book on Wednesday and the order says something along the lines of carrier notified to pick up package on the 26th.

All orders for the major chains have been filled (as of this moment). But the books go to warehouses, not directly to stores. Then from the appropriate warehouse they are sent to the stores. So I would suspect, but I don't have to be right, that the books will begin to appear in some stores by the middle of next week.

Weeeell i preordered PNL in June and just got a message from amazon.de that my delivery was pushed back to 26th of September...... (Hell in that time somebody could probably swim the Atlantic and run a few thousand miles to my house to deliver the book)

Any Austrian or German readers around that got their books already and could offer some advice? (the only two other options i can think of right now is to try to order from amazon.co.uk and to check my local bookstore if they can get it for me somehow).

I had borders "special order" me a copy of this book over the phone when i call into there store. I buy alot of books there so i felt confident that I would have a copy in the week they said it would take. today i get a [censored] ing post card in the mail that reads.

-the title you special ordered is unavialable at this time. Please let us know in 6 months if you would likd to attempt to order it again.

This is so lame. It reminds me of medieval times when you ordered something from the back of a cereal box and you were asked to "please allow 4-6 weeks for shipping". Why should *anything* *ever* take 4-6 weeks?

I realize every shipping lane, available airspace, and major highway was 100% reserved for a couple days for Hairy Pooter shipments, but that has come and gone. It's really stupid for stores not to have these books sooner.
