Re: $25 NL...Rivered 2nd nuts: 400 BB pot
All OK, raise a little more preflop, like 1.25. Maybe check this turn too. Go all in on river.
Oh and don't post the results. Although from the title what happens is clear. |
Re: $25 NL...Rivered 2nd nuts: 400 BB pot
I would just call his PSB on river if he isn't absolute idiot.

Re: $25 NL...Rivered 2nd nuts: 400 BB pot
Most of the money went in on river, not good. What hands you think you beat there. I think it's a split at best. I would just call the river. Your hand may be 2nd nuts but it's still not that strong, more like a bluff catcher.

Re: $25 NL...Rivered 2nd nuts: 400 BB pot
This really depends on table dynamics. Without a read on the opponent I probably just call. If he shows any kind of history of making big river bluffs I play this the same way.

Re: $25 NL...Rivered 2nd nuts: 400 BB pot
I would call river and catch bluff, I think he bets only bluff if he doesn´t have 8 here.

Re: $25 NL...Rivered 2nd nuts: 400 BB pot
I'm new to this...but no way I'm just calling the river.
if he has T8 so be it...and you can certainly get value from a raise on the river...it's hard for him to call a raise on the river with a 1 card straight out there...but what about your line would make him think you are likely to have an 8 here anyway? a raise is definitely worth it IMO |
Re: $25 NL...Rivered 2nd nuts: 400 BB pot
bump to see if anyone agrees with me or i'm crazy

Re: $25 NL...Rivered 2nd nuts: 400 BB pot
If villain is as bad as he looks. This river is a call.
Why are we raising a split pot at best? If he's a retard and slow played KK/AA here, then in that unlikely situation we might miss some value. But the board does have 4 to a straight on it. Against bad players the gut shot is definitely in their calling range. I see no point in raising. |

Like you pointed out, it is hard to call a raise w/ a 1 card straight out there, which means he will fold a lot of hands to our raise that we have beat if we call anyway. I'd put villain on an 8 or a slowplayed KK or a rivered 99 with the donkbet he made. There are 8 T8 combos left and 3 combos of KK and 99 each. If you think he will call your raise with any set then it rises to 15 set combos vs 8 combos of T8. Vs an unknown, I'd just call as I think he has T8 more than a set. (I don't think he slowplays 66 to the river like this). Vs a player known to stack off terrible hands on coordinated boards (I'd need that exact note), then I raise for sure. Also, we are losing an extra $13 when villain has the nuts; he can just call our raise when he is beat. Perhaps we should just pushed the river AI if we are going to raise. |

Don't post results!
No, you couldn't have seen it coming. T8 is pretty far out there. oh, and isn't this full ring? Why are we getting so many full ring hands all of a sudden?? |
Re: $25 NL...Rivered 2nd nuts: 400 BB pot
check behind turn, CALL river as played.
