Stars $16 turbo: AJs with 13BB

SB has been taking exception to raises, rest are pretty soft.

MP1 (t1410)
Hero (t1300)
CO (t2525)
Button (t3020)
SB (t1490)
BB (t2035)
UTG (t1720)

Preflop: Hero is MP2 with A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].

Push, or a more controlled raise? There's not much left for a second barrel if 300-400 gets called...

im surprised you didnt include fold in your options...which is what id do

I'd raise to 250 and call a push from sb. From your read you can fold if anyone else pushes preflop.

No particular read on BB, but isn't a <3BB raise inviting him to call? With all the unpleasant flop scenarios that come with that?

I'd just shove cos I know it's +EV.

I think this is a case for push or fold.

no, i read it right.
i think its a push fold decision. And sngwiz says push AQs+.

so i am folding

standard raise, you cant cbet, you get shoved over youre probably beat, i just dont see why a fold is such a big deal.

I think I'd raise to 250, call a shove from the guy that's playing back alot, and fold to a shove from anyone else. Then I'd probably bet 350 or so if I had position postflop. People just call with crap and fold way too often to fold this...plus AJs is gonna get you a decent amount of value on the flop anyhow.

I like shoving here. It is +ev and the stack sizes make this difficult to play postflop if you miss the flop.

I too read it right and I also think its a push/fold situation, and I would fold just because I think that you can find a better situation to get a good amount of chips in for a double-up. I tend to have problems similar to this, with 13 BB's, but it's usually when I'm UTG or UTG+1 with hands such as slightly better than AJ, such as 22-66 and AQ
