I have 2 stars accounts and want to fix it
 

My girlfriend and I were living together for 2 years or so. We each had an account on Stars. She had a bank account I didn't, so when she quit playing online poker I took over her stars account. Since I didn't have a bank account (and therefore no Neteller or ePassporte or anything) it was just easiest for me to do that so I could cash out into her neteller/epassporte/bank account. I can't open a bank account due to some problems I had like 4 years ago. I am a US citizen living in the US.


Anyway, she and I broke up and she moved out. I obviously want to get the money out of her account and back to mine. The problem is that we didn't break up on very good terms. We're not speaking and I really have no way to get in touch with her, so I can't cash out the money like I used to. The email on the account is my email address (since she hadn't used the account in over a year so we changed the email to one of mine), it's just her name on the account.

I'm worried that if I ship the whole account balance over to the account in my name and then start playing from the same IP that the other account was playing on it will throw up some flags with stars, since I can't rely my ex-gf sending in any kind of identification if they ask for it (she's on the opposite side of the country).

Has anyone had any experience with shipping a whole account balance to another account? Can I email stars about this and ask them directly without setting off bells?

FWIW the acccount in my name has been open for 3 years and the one in her name has been open a year and a half or so and has accrued 200k FPPs at stakes from 25NL to 1000NL. Both accounts were active from 18-15 months ago, coming from the same IP, when we were both playing.

Typing all this up, I realize it sounds shady, like I'm either trying to steal my ex's account balance or this second account was set up by me in a non-existant person's name to get a second bonus or change screen names. Not really much I can say to people who believe that.

Got to a friends house and use their internet to do the transfer.

Situation is sketchy.. Probably best to just contact stars and ask them, although they will probably want you to send in your ex's ID, which is what your trying to avoid here.

Play your two accts in a heads up sit n go and dump the money over that way. Sounds like the easiest way and you dont have to deal with support at all. As to the fpp's just play tourney's for cash or buy something and ship it to your address.

I don't really care about the FPPs, I'll order a TV or something, the account points to my physical address. I was just stating that so that people would know the acount has a good long history.

anyway, if its not a lot of money, just xfer it. if it's a lot of money, xfer it across sites and back.

nah, i just closed an account with a negative balance by accident. got put into chexsystems so no one will let me open an account and the bank it happened with won't take me out of the system even though i paid them their money the second i found out about it.

Whatever, playing heads up would not flag either account, but if you contact PS and tell them you have two accounts you'll lose everything. If you guys remember when the guy hacked Raymer's acct and started dumping to himself in HU SNG'S, railbirds had to contact support before they knew what was going on. All you have to do is make it look good, and that would be easy to do. Support doesn't watch every SNG or review hands unless someone alerts them to it , or something really fishy like folding aa preflop happens. Like I said if you lose it and make it look good support would never look at it. I haven't seen a better suggestion, so kiss my butt MH.

I'm glad to see that you admit you know your "best suggestion" to deal with a problem involves cheating. Now I don't have to spend time in assessing the value of any posts you make in future.

BTW MH, I never asked you to assess the value of my post's, so that sure didn't ruin my day and I'm still anxiously awaiting your reply to your cheating statement. I guess when your wrong, you don't have an answer. Anyone else can tell me how my suggestion is cheating? Or better yet have another way to help this guy??

Chip dumping is chip dumping, and is against all sites rules.

If his former gf complains, he will lose all money in both accounts. Stars will lock his account and seize every dollar in his account, and he'll never have a chance of getting his own money out.

Cheating may be a bit strong, as it is all his money (his word, but I have no reason to doubt his story either). However, there despite being a sticky situation, there are far better methods than outright chip dumping, which is always shady at best irregardless of the reasons for doing so.

As far as Stars is concerned, it's not him vs him, it's him vs an account of someone else, and Stars will consider it chip-dumping and fraud.

I think it's cheating.

You don't.

Some things are about how you live your life, and are difficult to define. At least for me.

So I'm happy to let the OP decide if he wants to chip-dump. Maybe the site won't think it's cheating if they do happen to find out somehow.

So is having two acct's (fraud) and however he transfers the $$$ and she complains, he's toast anyway. Like I said, everyone can criticize my suggestion but no one can give a better one.

One of the accounts involved is the same as my 2p2 account so I'm posting on another account here just to be on the safe side in case stars sees this and freaks out. I can verify my identity with MH if that will help the thread.

All my online money is on stars, so I can't do an offiste trade. I might be able to find two people to do a 3 way trade though, I hadn't thought of that.

Also, I realize that this thread might give ideas to people who hijack someone's account, so if anyone doesn't want to post in this thread PMs work too.

The problem is that chip dumping is seriously, highly against the TOS and the sites take it VERY VERY seriously because of the implications it can have in money laundering.



Anyway, if no one has any ideas by tomorrow I guess I'll just email stars from an address not attached to any accounts, leave out details, and see what they say.

Chip dumping is illegal. Yes I agree, but dumping to yourself?? I don't see how the site would ever know if you make it look good, and she doesn't turn him in. Call me names but tell me how my suggestion beyond making stupid plays to dump chips or girlfriend complaining ,it would be caught by the site.Someone please enlighten my stupid asssss. If he loses the matches str8 over set, or something like that, no way it would be detected.

My brother sometimes plays from the same IP as me
Hes trasnfered about 45-50k to me in the last year in 5-10k chunks with no problems at all

Basically risk vs reward.

One account has $0 and hasn't been used in a long time. Another account is used daily. They play heads up, the account that's used daily is suddenly playing way above its normal limits and loses everything. The account that hasn't been used in forever cleans him out, starts playing daily, and the account that used to be used all the time stops playing.

I think some flags are going to get thrown up somewhere and if they do I'm in a wayyy worse situation than I am now.

Just transfer from your GFs account to your own account rather than chip dump? I can't see how this would raise any suspicions, the transfer feature is there to be used!

BTW I had two accts on PS and they found out. Since I never played both in the same game or tourney they just closed the one I opened last. I had no problems with PS and continued to play, but both accts had my name on them. So you might have a problem since her name is on the other.

Changes in stakes played and games played are looked at when relatively big money is won or lost or cashed out. If he suddenly wins/loses $8000 in two accounts that once had the same IP address and they don't notice, I'd be disappointed in their checking procedures.

I basically wanted to see if anyone knew if any flags would get thrown since I'd be emptying out the account. Since I have no way to verify the identity on the one account I'm just trying to be extra careful.

I didn't realize the inactivity in your own acct, but with the ip issues MH mentions a transfer wont work either. One acct transfers all money to another acct with the same ip it was playing on.Flag. Sounds like you need to get a new computer. lol I don't see how you can get out of this without involving her if you want to be legit with PS. Otherwise you are going to have to take some risk however you try to transfer the $$$. Good luck.

This was 4 yrs ago, right?
I know virtually nothing about banking nor the seriousness of your infraction but I would have to think there's some sort of way to fix this situation so that you can have a checking acct again.

So how long do you have to wait before you can open a new bank account? You can't live your entire life not having a bank account.

How did you fund your account and how are you going to cash out since you dont have a bank account?
Through the same method as the other account your ex girlfriends bank account?

Have you thought about getting a rechargable visa card? You shouldn't have to worry about confirmation of account and you can have it in your ex-gf name. Just charge it up and withdraw funds from a regular ATM. When it's done just cut up the card. That way you can have the $ out of her PS account and you don't need a bank account to do it. If you want to keep a balance online for your account just transfer a smaller amount like 1K or 2K over the course of a couple days or a week.

I have to wait another year and a half or so before I can open a checking account. Sucks hard and it's been a huge pain in the ass.

This works in the US?

I haven't really kept up with deposit/withdrawl methods, I've just been doing Netller/ePassporte/paper checks in her name.

Yes, it should work fine. That is if you are still getting her mail at your address. If she's forwarded it then she will get the card and not have a clue what to do with it since you have all the info.

Have you tried some online credit-fixing forum at all?
There seem to be some pretty knowledgeable guys wh ofrequent those things.
Or those guys in the commercials who say they can fix your credit?
Probably a big scam but what the hey.

This seems like a really huge penalty for a seemingly minor and honest mistake.
I still refuse to believe there isn't SOME way that you could fix this.

Yeah. We were basically sharing her bank account. I would cash out money to it from the poker sites as well as getting my work paycheck direct deposited there then withdraw everything above and beyond the stuff that went to bills as cash. We weren't quite to the point of totally sharing a bank account.

I haven't really looked at any of the credit fixing stuff. I know most of it is a scam and, honestly, when I had my ex's account to use it wasn't a huge deal. But I'm probably going to look into that stuff next. Luckily this all came at a good time for me as I have enough cash to last a long time. Also, my dad has the same name as me, so I have a way of getting checks cashed if I can get them.

well, given that you had that financial arrangement I think the obvious solution is to just suck it up and try to work with her on this situation.

Send an e-mail or leave a message that you are sorry to have to contact her but you may need her to send in her name/financial stuff for your money.
Obviously she knows what you guys were doing before.

Exception to this is if you think she's psycho enough to try to snag all the money for herself and that sending her such a notice would just be a rminder that she currently has the power to contact Stars and try to steal all of the money that you have which is in her name.

but if you think you guys are just on bad terms but you trust that she wouldn't do something like this than I think you just need to take the uncomfortable route and contact her about it and see if she will cooperate.


Semi-similar situation with my ex-wife.
We got lazy on making the divorce official even though we were living in seperate states and considered ourselves divorced.
A house she bought while we were still technically married was somehow in my name also and she had to have me sign a paper so that she could sell it. So she contacted me about it and we handled it like grown-ups (which may have actually been a first for our failed relationship).

My parents got divorced but still had financial ties that they needed to communicate with each other about occasionally. No biggie.

These things happen.

So if there's any way that you can just handle this via your ex I think you need to pursue that route no matter how uncomfortable it might seem.
