My noob play with QQ at live 1/2 NL
Mostly play limit but sat down with $150 at a 1/2 NL table.
3 hands in I get red Queens and raise to the standard PFR of $15. man to my left calls. Heads up. Flop K73 Rainbow. I bet 30 but what would you do with an overcard to your PP on that board. He calls Turn (X) Check, check. River (A) Check, Check He says "I think we have the same hand..." tables AK. Should I have shutdown with that K on the board? |
Re: My noob play with QQ at live 1/2 NL
This is super standard. I play it identically.

Re: My noob play with QQ at live 1/2 NL
Hand looks pretty standard (I am not a big fan of double barreling live calling stations.) I c-bet this flop HU as well and shut down when called. Villain played the hand horribly on every street.

Villian is obv donk.
So people c-bet this hand live and then check this hand online, im confused? |

Hang on he checked behind on the river?

It's not like you are getting much more out of lower PPs unless they hit their miracle 2-outer. |
Re: My noob play with QQ at live 1/2 NL
Yes sir.
I'm glad to hear that I played in standard. I don't really have that much live or online NL play. First NL day +$230. Second time -$200. Third time -$150. |

Re: My noob play with QQ at live 1/2 NL
OP played it fine.
As for your comment, online is more aggro, checking this (although done usually in position) enables hero to get value more in future streets if ahead and adds the bonus of catching villain bluffing on the turn or river. Live is more passive hence no point of this. (or less usefull of a play) [ QUOTE ] Villian is obv donk. So people c-bet this hand live and then check this hand online, im confused? [/ QUOTE ] |
Re: My noob play with QQ at live 1/2 NL
Villain was horrible on turn and river; flop and pf not horrible.
As far as hero. I'm willing to put in exactly one bet on next three streets. So I probably check and live villain is likely to check without a king. |

I am not a fan of playing AK in multi-way pots live. I do not understand why you want to be so passive live. The players are bad and will put a lot of chips in the middle with TPGK. That's the hand I expect to get paid from. Not a bluff or a PP that isn't putting another dime in the pot unless they suck out and destroy me. |

I usually reraise preflop, not always, and I often just call this flop. |

[/ QUOTE ] I sort of expect to get paid off by a lot PPs here. Maybe I'm thinking about it wrong. I'm playing this hand expecting to get in a bet on every street, rather than stack KQ. I'm not really worried about being outdraw in this spot. The way I play, the vast majority of hero's are going to find it pretty much impossible to find a fold with anything 88+ against me here. I'm basically calling praying not to turn an ace on the flop, and then making bluffy-looking bets on turn and river. Folding to any raise at any point after flop. The only tough spot is when I just call the flop and he leads into me on turn, whether to raise or just call again, but thats really read dependent. |

Villain did everything he could to allow hero to beat him. The only problem was the deck did not cooperate. |
