New to 6-max, need a little help
I've been playing poker for a while and studying a lot in these forums, posting when I can find the time. I'm fairly new to 6-max and I'm looking for some advice to help my game. I played full ring a lot during the winter and ended up with stats around 22/7 stealing around 31% of the time. Since I've moved to 6-max I've tightened up (!?) becoming 15/10 but now only stealing 22% of the time. Posted below are my stats.
http://home.comcast.net/~purenhl/ptbar.JPG Am I too much of a nit for 6-max right now? Thanks for your help guys. |
Re: New to 6-max, need a little help
15/10 is pretty tight in my book. I might try to loosen it up a bit, especially from late position.

how do you get your won wsf so high?

Re: New to 6-max, need a little help
Raise and get more involved in position. Your agg factor probably accounts for you won without showdown being good.
I feel you maybe too betting hard and losing some value. Steal more, and try a few more move from button it looks like you dont have a problem getting players folding so exploit that! |
Re: New to 6-max, need a little help
Oh and raise hands that you are comfortable raising form the button not just cos someone else recommends. Just loosen up you raising range from button until you find a balance will help with image too.

Re: New to 6-max, need a little help
You should loosen up in 6 max and raise more, not tighten up. Looks like you could raise more in late position, try raising with suited connectors, suited one gappers etc. and see how you do. Most of the stats seem fine for this kind of style though.

Re: New to 6-max, need a little help
Recently changed from FR myself lol, I've got to 19/14 but it's taken work - I'm raising some suited connectors in position which is an odd feeling at first, nearly all PP's and busting a gut to pretty much never call, only a suited connector or PP under perfect circumstances. I found a post "help me become 22-16" somewhere when I was struggling but can't remember where (should be a sticky if it isn't). If I think of where I'll post it.

[/ QUOTE ] Yeah, I'd appreciate it if you found it. Probably could only do me good. As far as hands I'm raising in the CO/BUT I've been using this as a guideline: any PP, Axs, 23s+, 56o+ and A9o+ including any two royals. Maybe add Kxs and suited 1-gappers to begin to gradually loosen up? I've tried to make it a habit of continually attacking someone's blinds when they aren't defending them no matter which two cards they have, as well as slowing up when I feel I'm being 3-bet light (which I feel is happening more than it should). |

Re: New to 6-max, need a little help
Listen to gangsta rap whilst playing and every time you have a hand on the button or the cutoff say "CRAK CRAK MUTHAFKAAA" and raise.
Im not joking. Do it whenever you sense weakness. |
Re: New to 6-max, need a little help
if you're raising all those hands, there's no way you're only running at 15/10. i'd say try to get to about 23/18

I remembered where I saw it- somewhere along the line there is a downloadeable preflop chart but there is plenty of good advice in there, GL |

I know sample is small but think the Vpip and attempt to steal numbers are fairly accurate. This more on the right track? Oh...and "CRAK CRAK MUTHAFKAAA" really helped. Mostly in an inspirational sense. |
