Re: 100r FT KQ in SB
Obv read dependant. I think a lot of players don't do this as light as we often convnice ourselves they do but if I limped with the intenton of limpraising here I think I'd have to call.

Re: 100r FT KQ in SB
the icm calculator i used only has 5 payouts, so with 6 handed it'll have the person busting 6th getting $0, to compensate i gave everyone 6th place money by taking it out of the top 6, is this fine? will that still work? it sounded right and im kinda busy and didnt ahve time to think about if that'll work, dont have other alternatives so i'll just try it this way.
To start the hand we're worth: $5,714 If we complete-fold to shove: $5,458 If we double up we're worth: $10,154 Bust: $0 x%*$10154 - (1-x%)*$0 > $5458 x% > $5458/$10154 x% > 53% i really doubt you have >50% equity with these stacks and this action. |

[/ QUOTE ] As soon as I read this I just thought fold because we're a 60/40 against a ton of his range and we're not a coinflip nearly enough of the time to justify calling. KQ < A7, etc. other hands villain doesn't want to play postflop. |
Re: 100r FT KQ in SB
Your stack isn't big enough to limpreraise. Open push or raise/call.

Re: 100r FT KQ in SB
I raise/call here almost always. If I happened to limp/raise here, I think I probably call the shove but it's close.

Re: 100r FT KQ in SB
I like your plan of limp-re-raising, the most effective way to play hands like A10-AQ, KQ KJ here with the stacks. That being said villain took that weapon away from you with huge overbet shove. Given the new rebuy structure and your skill level I think you are calling off way too many chips here to limp-call all-in and there are really only 2 hands he "might" do this with that you want to see, KJ or K10s. I really think including those hands maybe stretching it a bit but he definitely doesnt have a huge hand and you are likely 50/50 40/60 vs his range. That being said I'd rather suck it up and fold and shove an UTG raiser with 8 high having fold equity to win the pot with no showdown.

Re: 100r FT KQ in SB
interesting...
i also think raise/call with this stack size also but bel0w makes some good points. i also thought there was a strong posibility that you were limp reraising, so i wanted to turn the hand back on to you to making you call off for all your chips. i dunno how good my play was. turning the hand around, what ranges would people raise/fold, raise/call, shove from the bb here? Re: 100r FT KQ in SB
screw you postflop monkeys, I just go allin PF.
|
Re: 100r FT KQ in SB
Raise/fold nothing from BB here. That would be the worst play ever. Probably shove nothing over a limp. Check or raise call.
|
Re: 100r FT KQ in SB
i'd never raise/fold. probly shove low pairs, a2-a9ish, kt-kq. raise/call all other pairs, at+

Re: 100r FT KQ in SB
i also was never raise folding, hence the shove, but i put the option in anyway

Re: 100r FT KQ in SB
i agree with bel0w here... when i first read it, i liked it, but you still have plenty of play left imo to let him have this one, and set it up for a trap later on.

Re: 100r FT KQ in SB
There are only 4 possible results from the limp/push line:
1. BB checks (bad) 2. BB raise/folds (very good obv) 3. BB pushes/ hero folds (bad) 4. We have a race But how realistic is #2? With these stack sizes I think BB is clearly in push mode. Raise/folding would be dreadful. So other than that, the best-case scenario that can happen by limp/pushing is that we get it all in. Knowing that, I think pushing to begin with is clearly better. |
Re: 100r FT KQ in SB
Curtains I assume you just 3x your very good and very bad hands here and shove the slightly good stuff?
|
Re: 100r FT KQ in SB
Goggles/Exitonly calculations FTW.
I dunno if this play is all that necessary as opposed to just plain opening for 3x or whatever. |
Re: 100r FT KQ in SB
Btw if a bit shorter (14bbish) instead of open shoving I like going and going.

Curtains I assume you just 3x your very good and very bad hands here and shove the slightly good stuff? [/ QUOTE ] I would generally fold or limp very bad hands. I would 3x some marginal hands and AQ+, 88+. Usually limp big pairs. Push Ax, small pps, and most 2 broadway cards. I would vary this based on the opponent and the situation. If I had 25xBB, I would limpreraise more. Here I think open push >= raise/call > limp. |
