Re: NL200 river problem
I think this is probably a fold. I tend to call in these situations and usually I am wrong.

Re: NL200 river problem

Also, since I assume hes unkown we really don't know much here, he could have AQ for all we known, maybe even stuck around with k10 for the gutter, who knows. I think we lay this down here. For us to call on the river, we have to put him on someting like QJ or Q10, and while those I guess are likely, I think he checks QJ behind on the river, and Q10 he could be turning into a bluff here. |
Re: NL200 river problem
I hate c/r the flop and not leading the turn. Any reason you did this. Seems like b/f turn is a better line than c/c.

Re: NL200 river problem
No offense but I kinda hate the whole hand.

Re: NL200 river problem
Am I the only one who likes a call here?
Anyway, if I'm taking this line I think I'm calling for sure. |
Re: NL200 river problem
These big river bets following weak turn bets aren't bluffs very often. Looks like he either hit his draw or he was "slowplaying" the turn hoping for another checkraise.
I don't understand your turn play either. Did his calling of the checkraise worry you? Did you think he hit his straight on the turn? |

Re: NL200 river problem
I would probably raise to $12 preflop - it makes the rest of the hand a little easier and you can normally just take it down right there. As played, when I flop TPTK OOP in an unraised pot, I like to lead out and find out where I am. I'm NEVER looking to play a huge pot unless I drastically improve my hand, or if I'm up against a total fish, and checkraising the flop just bloats the pot and puts you in a weird spot when called. On the other hand, a checkraise is great if you have a better hand like 2pair or a set.
As played, it's impossible to know where you stand by check-calling each street, and I probably fold to that river bet. Sure looks like he had a draw that got there. |
Re: NL200 river problem
Looks like he picked up a flush draw on the turn, bet to get some money in the pot, and then bet hard when it hit. I fold this.
I like the check pre-flop, but I lead the flop for $6 here. AJ has burned me plenty, and I want to know where I stand right up front. |

[/ QUOTE ] Not bad advice, if you are truly stuck and you think its that close then use a randomiser to tell you your move. At least that way you vary your play. |
