NL 100 - AA not raising preflop
I have had 4-5 hands the last couple of days where villains have had pocket AA and do not raise preflop. I am throwing away money in these situations and would appreciate any suggestions. Some will limp and call a raise and I just can't seem to put them on a hand. Comments welcome and appreciated, here is just 1 example but have more that are similar.

With his mini raise I thought maybe trips but was not confident and talked myself in to him having AQ. |

i do not understand why you are pushing. just call and reevaluate turn.

Re: NL 100 - AA not raising preflop
I pushed because I thought my hand was good and he only had ~ $37 left. If he is all-in on turn do we fold? What if turn is not an A?

Re: NL 100 - AA not raising preflop
i did not notice stack sizes. the line you took is fine.

Re: NL 100 - AA not raising preflop
i push in that spot too

Re: NL 100 - AA not raising preflop
What do we put villain on with miniraise? My thoughts were:
1. AQ 2. flush draw (I would not miniraise there but have seen it often at this level 3. trips |
Re: NL 100 - AA not raising preflop
This seems fine.

Re: NL 100 - AA not raising preflop
who cares just go all in. You have KK on an awesome board vs a shortstack who called 7 pre.

Re: NL 100 - AA not raising preflop
I definitely did not put him on pocket AA and that's the point of this post. Do you see alot of people calling raises or limp calling preflop? I have limped with AA or KK from EP but that was with the intention to 3 or 4 bet.

Re: NL 100 - AA not raising preflop
I care and I am trying to learn from my mistakes. I have lost about $400 like this the last couple of days. If I am playing this wrong I want to correct it. If the consensus is I played this correctly and these downswings are normal then I'm okay with that. I am just trying to correctly a possible leak.
Does anybody find a fold here or is that just too tight? |

Re: NL 100 - AA not raising preflop
Since he only called preflop, could we put him on trips? I have seen alot of players miniraise with trips on the flop and remember reading on here that miniraises on flops are fairly common with trips. I personally do not miniraise with trips but anyone else see this?

Re: NL 100 - AA not raising preflop
I have noticed a fair amount of players that are smooth calling with AA preflop. Sometimes you have to pay them off - especially if they are short, but in general just take a note, and don't let it happen again.
