Psychology of Poker vs inside poker mind
hi,i just want it to be clear in my head since all i know is only bit of memory, i want to be sure to have it right!
wich one is better? i remember(correctly?) about reviews that were saying: inside poker mind is much better then psychology of poker and if u had to choose between the 2,inside poker mind was the one to go? so,is this right or not? furthermore i did buy it (inside poker mind) and i found it great. but,is psychology worth to get anyhow since i already have inside poker mind? is psychology of poker bring info that poker mind didnt cover already in it? ty for answering |
Re: Psychology of Poker vs inside poker mind
Rather than reading Psychology of poker I would recommend the same author's latest work: Your worst poker enemy. This book should help you to identify and stop psychologically based mistakes.

Re: Psychology of Poker vs inside poker mind
I think you might want to consider Dr. Als new book, your worst enemy before Psychology of poker.

Re: Psychology of Poker vs inside poker mind
unfortunately, worst ennemy of poker is not on ffp PS list........:).
but yeah i hear about that book, i should take a look into it:) but is psychology simply not just worth getting then, since i have inside poker mind and will probably buy worst ennemy of poker? ps: worst ennemy poker takes some idea from is previous book and add it new info around it(worst ennemy),or is it just totaly new info in it? ty for anwering |
Re: Psychology of Poker vs inside poker mind
Dont be a cheap ass. Just buy both books. Inside the Poker Mind is a better book than Psychology of Poker but that doesnt mean you shouldnt buy POP.
|
Re: Psychology of Poker vs inside poker mind
with the # of books i bought already......
i dont want a book wich can be a bit useless if i buy worst ennemy in poker and already have inside the poker mind... whats the point buying a book if the knowledge covered inside has already been said in other book i have...duh.. |
Re: Psychology of Poker vs inside poker mind
The two books are good in different ways. ITPM is a book of essays about poker, whereas POP is more strictly focused. If you understand that the books really are unrelated to each other, and just want to choose one, I'd choose ITPM.

Re: Psychology of Poker vs inside poker mind
Looking for a good psych book to add to my poker collection.
Do you think Inside the Poker Mind is the book I should buy Today? Which psych book should I get next? Psychology of Poker Your Worst Poker Enemy Ace on the River Thanks All! |
Re: Psychology of Poker vs inside poker mind
The Poker Mindset

Re: Psychology of Poker vs inside poker mind
I can definately recommend ITPM and TPM, these books have helped enourmously in improving my mental approach. No magic formulas, just simple straightforward common sense stuff that we all sometimes forget in the heat of the moment.
I look forward to reading YWPE at some point too, although im not sure if this book will offer anything more than the others. Has it had good reviews? |
Re: Psychology of Poker vs inside poker mind
Both ITPM and POP are very good books. ITPM is more for limit poker and POP can apply more to both NL and limit
|
Re: Psychology of Poker vs inside poker mind
Thanks guys I actually bought POP because ITPM wasn't available at the bookstore but that will be next on my list.
The Poker Mindset sounds interesting as well. |

They should have just made ITPM another "poker essays" book as that's what it is similar to. |
