BBV: Pick My Car
So I've had a decent start to summer and sitting at about +50K for the may/june after starting horribly. Anyway, a year ago I was playing .10/.25NL and needless to say I couldn't afford a car. Now I can. So, I come to you BBV, since you're the official authority on ballerness, or whatever it is you want to call it.
Ill be entering my last year at UBC, so I'll be using the car in downtown Vancouver a decent amount, if that changes any of your opinions. So far I've narrowed it down to 4 (somewhat random) choices. All these cars are in the 2002-2004/5 range. Cadillac CTS Lincoln LS Nissan 350z Infinity G35 coupe I'm fortunate enough to have family members working in the auto industry, so I can get pretty good deals on all of these cards. They all range from about 15-25K, but as long as its in that range, price won't really effect the decision. I'm definitely planning on putting nice rims on well, as that may effect the decision (Ie. the CTS is kinda gross without rims) Since I'm retarded/I assume you guys probably know what each of the cars look like, I won't add pics, but hopefully someone bored can do that for me if people want. I'll follow BBV's advice and post a TR of the purchase with some pictures as well. Thanks in advance |

Re: BBV: Pick My Car
I have rode in all these, heres a brief review:
You may choose only one Cadillac CTS: Buddy owns one. Very nice car and luxurious. Defiantly baller. Cons: Premium gas, expensive replacement parts, made by GM. Lincoln LS: Overrated. The interior looks cheap with plastic parts, not impressed. Nissan 350z: Great handling and Nissan is a good manufacurer (I own a 2005 Maxima). If you are looking at this car you should also look at its competition the Mazda Rx8. Infinity G35: My girlfriend has this car. Very baller and quick. Make sure to get it in black to be extra baller. Summary: I would pick either the Cadillac or the Infinity. Read consumer reports info on both and test drive them both. |

Re: BBV: Pick My Car
I drive an STi...I would HIGHLY recommend driving one before buying another car...I was looking at all sorts of luxury cars and opted for the less luxurious STi since it was by far the most fun to drive

Re: BBV: Pick My Car
My dad drives a Lincoln LS. It's ok I guess but I'd never buy one, especially give the options of the other cars you named.

Re: BBV: Pick My Car
Get the G35
|
Re: BBV: Pick My Car
Having just test-drove a bunch of cars I'd say you really want either a Lexus IS 350, Infinity G35, BMW 330 or some sort of Subaru (all the Subarus are fun).

Re: BBV: Pick My Car
Would you consider a used car?
If so and you don't mind paying for maintanence: please consider 1998 Toyota Supra, 1995 Rx-7, 1995-2003 M3 (depending on your preference and budget). |
Re: BBV: Pick My Car
2 of your 4 picks are automatic, is that a preference? Do you seek sports or luxury?
|
Re: BBV: Pick My Car
Love the CTS. STS is very nice too.

Re: BBV: Pick My Car
I assume you're considering the g35 coupe and not the sedan as the coupe pwns the sedan
in order of my preference: 1 g35 2 350z 3 cts and in a verrryyy distant 4th Lincoln LS |

350Z, and it's not close |
Re: BBV: Pick My Car
I really like the CTS-V also. It's kinda pushing the price range though, but I guess once I'm done making a normal CTS look good it'll cost almost as much and won't have the corvette engine.

Re: BBV: Pick My Car
Pretty close between 350z and G35 (think about re-sale value as well, CTS has got to depreciate faster than these 2).. I voted for G35 Coupe but 350z is sexy as well.
|
Re: BBV: Pick My Car
Yeah, G35 coupe. The sedan is, well, gross.

Re: BBV: Pick My Car

Re: BBV: Pick My Car
I'd def go with the 350z here, imo it's more sporty looking than the g35. The Lincoln LS shouldn't really be on the list and the cts is fugly.

Re: BBV: Pick My Car
Cadillac and it's not even close
|
Re: BBV: Pick My Car
easy the 350z.... ill admit im not very familiar with the others tho
