Does the immigration meltdown help or hurt poker?

Unfortunately, I think that it hurts us, as the far right is strengthened and perhaps emboldened.

Poker is not really on the radar for 99% of the people/politicios out there.

No impact

Do not speak of this. Suggesting that our enemies may have been emboldened will embolden our enemies.

I keep waiting for Ann Coulter to weigh in on the poker issue.

Helps a little. Sen. Kyl looks like a sell-out to his wing of the party for supporting the amnesty, and he didn't get anything in return. No legislation, no earmarks for Arizona....nothing. Also, it helps in that it further divided the GOP social conservatives.

I don't think it makes a bit of difference.

It has nothing to do with poker. I voted "Doesn't affect poker."

Gambling legality is acheived at the state/local level, not at the federal level where you gain immigration legality. I don't see the relation that you imply.

You're the only one here who believes that there is no federal role in Internet gambling. On that topic, how's the fight to get Internet gambling sites licensed in any state going? I recall you were taking that on. Any action plan yet, or is it just easier to put everyone else down while doing nothing?

You know I didn't say that and don't have that belief, so why say I do?

The only effect is the likely trainwreck effect on GOP support amongst Latino-Americans (aside from Cuban-Americans, perhaps) as the rhetoric has been and will continue to be pretty xenophobic from the Tancredo wing. To the extent that this makes Dem control in '08 more likely, it's positive, but the effect is marginal, I feel.
