Sharing a BIG part of how I make money
[start of blog]
First Money making post- Polo T Shirts. Ok. Here is a list of all what I am going to cover making money, this will be one long big post, then I will post some of my stories, and continue my stories. 1) Buying and reselling polo t-shirts 2) Buying and reselling sports cards, and unopened sports cards products 3) Becoming an online ticket broker Buying and reselling polo t-shirts is by far what I've made the most on. Its a constant flow of cash, with minimal waiting period, and the #1 reason polos are the best, is it is impossible to lose money. I am talking about lacoste tshirts, abercrombie tshirts, and ralph lauren polo shirts. BUT DAN, when i go to the store these shirts are selling for $60++++!!! This is where most peoples plans faulter. Ebay will become your best friend throughout this entire blog, and when you decide to start making money. So if you dont have an ebay account, you better start one and picking up some feedback. In order to do this next step you need an ebay account. 1) Log on to www.ebay.com 2) [insert secret here] If you notice, the asking price is $1200+ $100 to ship= $1300 Total for 100 Shirts. Thats $13 per shirt SHIPPED TO YOU. These lacoste shirts come in the polybags, and come with the tags on them. They retail at $72.00 in stores!!! WOWOWOWOW The biggest plus to this auction is the guy is in the United States, and has good feedback. So you buy the shirts, good deal. They will generally get to you in about 3-4 days. Oh yeah! You will need a paypal account also. www.paypal.com Paypal is an online payment source where you can safely send money from your bank account and recieve it (when you start selling the shirts) and transfer it right into your bank account. Ok so you get the shirts in the mail. You have 100. You now (if you havnt already) need to set up your ebay account, and your paypal account. Selling on ebay is very easy. I dont feel the need to take the time to explain this, but you guys all have my email and AIM (Im on all the time) and I will answer any questions. Anyways, Set up your ebay and paypal, now its time to make some money!!! List all of your shirts individually. If you take a quick look at completed auctions on ebay, lacoste shirts get a minimum of $20 per shirt (thats without shipping) Most (especially black and white) go for around $30. So here is our next plan of action. List all the shirts individually and at first you might want to start them at like $14.99 or something. When I first started I did 14.99, now I've made a boatload and am pretty confident so I start all my shirts at $.01 Yeah a penny and still get around $20 a shirt. Now, a big part of making money on ebay **which to me is wrong, but everyone does it** is overcharge on shipping. In the long run it will increase your income significantly. I think it takes around $3 to ship a lacoste shirt. Most people on ebay charge like $9.99 to ship. I charge $5.99. Which tends to make people bid on my shirts more. I list the shirts for 3 days, at $.01, and charge $5.99. Sometimes I get $20 per shirt, sometimes I get $30, sometimes I get $15, it really just depends. But for the sake of my whole argument and blog, lets say I get an average of $20 per shirt. So you have your shirts, begin listing them on ebay (just search mens lacoste polo and you will get an idea of how to list based on what other sellers do) You will need shipping supplies. Here is what I use $1300- original investment +$12 - Shipping supplies +($3x100) = 300 - Shipping costs + Around $150 in ebay fees ----------------------------------- 1762= Total Cost (per 100 shirts bought) $20 per shirtx 100 = $2000 $2 per shirt x 100 = $300 (shipping extras) You just made 600 bucks (this will likely be the bare minimum as if you start your shirts at 19.99+ 6 shipping you are making 10 a shirt) All this for usually less then 8 hours a week. - most time is spend packing the shirts and listing on ebay. I am usually able to do 100 shirts every 1-2 weeks. However, if shirts arnt selling for what you want, back off a little because the market may be saturated with shirts. Tips and Tricks for polos 1) Abercrombie usually sells for more then lacoste 2) Polo goes the cheapest 3) Try out an ebay thing called "turbo lister" It will list all your auctions in a matter of seconds. 4) If you have some patience. I HIGHLY reccomened this step. Email the sellers of the shirts, and ask them if they will take, lets say, $11 per shirt. When I first started I did this, and now I have a steady dealer who ships me 100 shirts at $11 per shirt (I just increased my income by $200) I know theres prolly a lot of information missing so any suggest email or IM me. Thanks One other idea brought to my attention with these shirts, is starting your own online store. I know NOTHING about this, but I bet it would be very profitable business. Ebay and dealign with sellers is the way to go. However, I have been able to find some dealers outside the US that sell lacoste and abercrombie and polo for very cheap (although I will never buy from them because they dont accept paypal and their from china) Here are the links. [end of blog] Ok, so I didn't want to share this, because I've been making a [censored], but I'm tired of doing this... This blog is about 2 years old. I've since been making more, but am just too [censored] lazy to go back and change my post. Lately I've been getting $30+ for lacoste shirts, and I can now get burberry, a&f, and striped lacoste (which go for $50+) Now that I've shared my EASY money making secret with 2+2'ers, I'm ready to reveal all my secrets. I am doing this by PM, or AIM ONLY!!!! I am not posting anything else specific in this topic. ahnuld, or other mods, if you believe this is a scam, or not an appropriate thread, [censored] it, lock it, i dont care. I know people are always looking to make easy money, and I'm ready to reveal a big big secret of how I've been making tons of money the past 2 years, while also making money off it myself. |
Re: Sharing a BIG part of how I make money
how much have you made?
|
Re: Sharing a BIG part of how I make money
Dan, why do people need to Email or AIM you?
If you have something useful to share, why can't you just post it? |

how much have you made? [/ QUOTE ] I make atleast 200% on my money (putting in $1300 WILL give you back ATLEAST $2600) but it's usually way more. And the nice thing is, most people pay you with paypal, it's quick, easy, and if you get the paypal debit card, [censored], you just buy things and it comes directly from your paypal account. That was how I found out how much I made. People would pay with paypal, I would pay for the S&H with the debit card, and when my inventory was gone, I would be left with the bottom line. |

Dan, why do people need to Email or AIM you? If you have something useful to share, why can't you just post it? [/ QUOTE ] I have very many small things that net me a lot of money. This is prolly my biggest money maker when compared to easiness. And sniper, I'm not going to lie, I've been doing this for 2 years, I'm tired. I'm ready to sell my secrets. I know that's prolly *unethical* and this forum is supposed to be able to "help" people, but it's like poker coaching. People aren't going to coach for free. Just look at it as me coaching you to make money. |
Re: Sharing a BIG part of how I make money
While I haven't looked at any specific sellers, do keep in mind there are a LOT of fake Lacoste shirts out there. Unknowingly passing off imitations won't help you.

[/ QUOTE ] This is a problem I've noticed a lot of people running into. Since lacoste is making a HUGE comback in the clothes market, they are really cracking down on ebay sales, and ending peoples auctions. Lacoste was just the example in my blog. There is A&F, Lacoste, Ralph Lauren, Burberry. |
Re: Sharing a BIG part of how I make money
Why do I have a strange feeling that you are the guy selling the 100 polo shirts on ebay.
|
Re: Sharing a BIG part of how I make money
cause he is...
|
Re: Sharing a BIG part of how I make money
Even if I am (believe what you want).... Isn't it still the same damn thing I'm talking about in this forum? So say I am the guy selling 100 on ebay. You bid and get them for $1300, and then resell the 100, it's the same damn thing!
But anyway, there is only 1 auction of 100 lacoste shirts on ebay right now, and I can't get them to you faster then that guy selling them on ebay (look at my location, look at location on ebay seller, it's not me) |

Re: Sharing a BIG part of how I make money
$600 doesn't seem like much money compared to all the work involved. This might be good money for a HS kid, but it seems by the time you've answered emails, listed auctions, and driven to the post office several times to get rid of 100 shirts, you might as well have a job.
|
Re: Sharing a BIG part of how I make money
Step 3: Return shirts to various stores for $72 in store credit. Say you got the shirt as a gift. Profit is now $7200 - $1762 = $5438.

Re: Sharing a BIG part of how I make money
I think OP is just someone who wants to buy cheap lacoste polo shirts, and wants us to do all the leg work to get them to him.
No deal. |

Re: Sharing a BIG part of how I make money
It pays a few bills.
By in large overall, make roughly 25-50% on my overall investment. This is the average, as a few items will lose money. |

Re: Sharing a BIG part of how I make money
What % of your auction winners fail to send money?
What % of your auction winners send only some of the money? Per 100 shirts sold, how many hours do you spend on the following activities: - packaging each shirt - dropping the package off at the post office - answering emails, dealing with fraud, etc. What can you do to automate any of the above? Do you sell only to Americans or do you do international sales as well? Will it be difficult for people who have no ebay rating whatsoever to sell things? If so, what kind of strategies can they use to bump their rating up as quick as possible? I think the most difficult part here is finding goods at a deep enough discount in bulk volumes that will sell in a timely fashion. What kind of strategies do you use to find these goods? As you mentioned if shirts aren't selling, then the market is probably over saturated. |
Re: Sharing a BIG part of how I make money
this thread is going downhill fast. Burko, please post some useful stuff or answer some of the questions people are asking you or ill have to lock it.
|
Re: Sharing a BIG part of how I make money
all the name brand shirts that the OP mentioned would get shoot down by VERO. I bet he has already been red flagged by ebay so that's why he's trying to dumb his stocks or secrets at bulk.

Re: Sharing a BIG part of how I make money
Ok ok sorry, I'm in the process of moving my stuff out of my off campus housing back home for the summer since school just ended I don't have that much time.
ahnuld, like i said, if you want to lock the thread go ahead, it seems some people are interested, I'm just not ready to post my whole secret(s) for everyone to read. I will answer some of Elus2's questions right now |
Re: Sharing a BIG part of how I make money
What % of your auction winners fail to send money?
When I put 100 on, 100% get bid on, the problem comes when a person wins more then one. Although it cuts some hassle out of shipping the shirt, etc, it also cuts out on how much you make, because you make an addition $4 per shirt on shipping, and to get people to bid you offer cheaper shipping on more items won. I would say that out of 100 shirts that successfully sell on ebay, <5 are not paid for. Then, all you simply do is contact ebay, and after about 2 weeks you get your money back for the auction. What % of your auction winners send only some of the money? I write in my auctions I only accept paypal, so it's pretty much impossible for someone to only send "some" of the money. Per 100 shirts sold, how many hours do you spend on the following activities: - packaging each shirt - dropping the package off at the post office - answering emails, dealing with fraud, etc. 1) Packing the shirts. The biggest thing is writing the persons address on the envelopes. You can order a stamp that has your address and just stamp your return address on. That's what I did. what I've tried in the past, is copy and paste the peoples addresses onto a work document, print that out, then cut up the addresses and tape them on to the envelopes, but I feel that takes longer then just simply writing them 2) The post office can be a bitch sometimes. Make sure you find a hole in the wall post office that doesn't have a lot of people go to it. And make sure you go between the hours of like 10-11, or 2-4, since most people who work go before work/during lunch/after work before 5. Also, something I never did because I thought paypal was cheating me, was paypal has an automated postal system, where you enter the weight/dimensions, and you can pay for a shipping label that prints out and you can tape to your package then just drop them off. Again, I tried this but liked just getting the people at the post office to do it. 3) To be honest, I would read emails but rarely ever answer them. A lot of times it was completely useless to waste time answering emails. Example: Someone would win a shirt, and immediately email me asking when their shipment was going out, when they can expect it etc. If you are selling one thing, or a few things, I would answer this, but with the volume I am doing I don't answer it, or simply just say "it's going out tomorrow." Most of the time its pretty simple. Someone wins your auction, you click send invoice, ebay will flag the people you've already sent invoices to, they pay through paypal, you get an email with their address, specific color/size, and you're done. And again, fraud wasn't too much of a hassle. If you are that worried, in your auction description just put "Bidders must have 10 positive feedback in order to bid" etc. What can you do to automate any of the above? anyway to automate I explained when answering the question. Do you sell only to Americans or do you do international sales as well? Only americans, because I have no idea how much to charge for shipping to other countries, if someone from canada accidently wins, I just tag on like $5 to shipping costs. Will it be difficult for people who have no ebay rating whatsoever to sell things? If so, what kind of strategies can they use to bump their rating up as quick as possible? No, I started from scratch. At first, business as slow, and you won't see as high of prices, but once you hit that 30+ positive mark, your auction prices climb and climb. I think the most difficult part here is finding goods at a deep enough discount in bulk volumes that will sell in a timely fashion. What kind of strategies do you use to find these goods? As you mentioned if shirts aren't selling, then the market is probably over saturated. The biggest part of my secret is obtaining these shirts. I'm not going to release the price I get them at right now, even though most of you think the post from my blog is accurate it's not. And believe me, the profit margin is huge, better then any other investment out there, and again, believe me, at first I was hesitant because there is A LOT of polo shirts on ebay, I mean A LOT, but the shirts sold every single time. Oh, and I'm in columbus right now. I will be back in Cincinnati prolly around 2pm est tomorrow, will take pictures with my lacoste shirts, and have a 2+2 sign in it if you guys are really that worried about this post lol, my digital camera is something I needed to pick up in columbus anyway as I am planning to list a bunch of watches on ebay, and need the camera to take pictures. |
Re: Sharing a BIG part of how I make money
What is your ebay user ID?
|
Re: Sharing a BIG part of how I make money
Sounds like you're just selling a supplier contact because I'm much better at eBaying than this and I was in business 7 years ago (back when you had to pay to print postage online and eBay had almost no power seller tools).

Re: Sharing a BIG part of how I make money
***BIG WARNING TO ALL HERE***
I fell for this stupid little idea a couple years ago. At first I pretty much played stupid and pretended that the shirts I was receiving were legit - they weren't. After a few months of selling shirts, you begin to notice that about 5% of people return them claiming they're fake - because they are. And there are SO MANY Lacoste shirts being auctioned right now, you wont get more than 20/shirt. After shipping, ebay fees, paypal fees, returns, etc. You're lucky to break even. What ended it all for me? A big fat lawsuit threat from Fross Zehliger representing Lacoste. I WOULD HIGHLY ADVISE EVERYONE TO STAY AWAY FROM THIS IDEA Not only are you putting your own money and legal future at risk, but you're selling FAKE PRODUCTS. Lame way to make money. |
