PS (sarcasm appreciated!) I haz humorz, much lulz to be had.

why do you choose to believe in jesus rather than thor or zeus when they are just as credible?

assuming you had a 16 year old daughter who was raped and is now pregnant, would you want her to have the baby?

1. As many times as i have asked this question to myself, re-read everything i know, looked into atheism, buddhism, and everything else...there is definitly something tangible. Thor and Zues are proven mythical gods imo...there are many arguments for both sides, please if u want elaboration and documentatino please ask.

2. The catholic church is pro-life, no abortion on any standards. I am saying i would want her to have the baby because life is a gift. A lot of famous people were a product of of rape. Michaelangelo? I believe? i'm not to sure i'm only a freshman and still learning all the science, and history of pro life and pro choice. Again, do you want sites/documentation?

Re: Ask a Catholic?

Do you believe in the full old-school Catholicism (pre-marital sex and masturbation are mortal sins that can damn you to an eternity in Hell) or do you just pick and choose? If it's the first choice, has this done anything weird to your sexual desires? (Rape fantasies, attraction toward children, etc.)

are you pissed you gave the catholic church your right to think? or was it a fair trade for heaven?

Have you ever been touched in an inappropriate way by a priest?

And what percent of priests are either gay or pedophiles?

God is eternally merciful, and if these sins are not forgiven, it's up to God's mercy...i guess, i'm not 100% that all of these are mortal (masturbation)

1. Nope

2. Not sure, but the media really makes it seem like they all are.

Re: Ask a Catholic?

I think outside of the Church trust me i disagree with so much...i'm flawed. If i'm dead and there is no heaven, then my life was for spreading hope, helping others, and living for something greater than myself. I can deal with that.

tisthefire 06-23-2007 04:32 AM

Re: Ask a Catholic?

i wonder how much "hope" you're spreading by making your 15 year old daughter have her rape baby against her wishes

(hypothetically of course but that's what you stand for)

he made a good movie portraying the suffering of the Son of God...his drunken comments about jews, seems to stem from a result of his fathers viewpoints...It is sad this man is the only Catholic people look to when there are more examples.

Witty banter, i'm just kidding. You seem to not like catholics. Religion in general, i'm not sure? Past religion experience, i kinda wanna know your background if possible.

Why are you Catholic, as opposed to any of various Protestant denominations?

If the answer is just "I was raised that way," then have you ever re-examined any of those beliefs once you got old enough to do so?

I went to a presbyterian (sp) church with my friend for 2 years when i was raised catholic and went to a catholic school. I had friends there. I said in the post that i've looked at tons of religions. The Eucharist is the source of my Catholocism, it has changed my heart and mind, and given me more than i could've asked for.

I assume you have had a religious upbringing, either from your parents or at your school, do you think this is the only reason for your belief in God?

When you say you looked into Atheism, why did you still choose to believe in God? Have you ever read Richard Dawkin's God Delusion?

Does religion give a purpose to your life?
