#28 (3k NLHE) - Hellmuth + Norm MacDonald in final 26

'pseudo-pro' Evelyn Ng, Thomas Wahlroos, and 'GreenPlastic' Taylor Caby are also in the remaining field. None of the 5 are in the top 10 chips, though.

Norm MacDonald Doubles Through Scott Bohlman

Scott Bohlman raised 20K. Norm MacDonald raised all in for 75K. Bohlman called.

Bohlman: {A-Clubs}{5-Clubs}
MacDonald: {2-Hearts}{2-Spades}

The flop was {A-Spades}{K-Hearts}{J-Hearts} and Bohlman took the lead. The turn was the {2-Diamonds} and MacDonald regained the lead with a set. The river was the {4-Hearts} and MacDonald doubled up.

What's Helmuth's stack? He's not in the top 10 so I can't tell.

His SNL hosting monologue is one of my favorites:

'When the people here asked me to do the show, I've got to say, I felt kind of weird. I don't know if you remember this, but I used to actually be on this show. I used to do the "Weekend Update" news routine, you remember that? That's where I did the make-believe news jokes. That was me, you know? So then, a year and a half ago, I had sort of a disagreement with the management at NBC. I wanted to keep my job. Right? And they felt the exact opposite. They fired me because they said that I wasn't funny. Now, with most jobs, I could have had a hell of a lawsuit on my hands for that, but see, this is a comedy show. So, they got me. But, now, this is the weird part, it's only a year and a half later, and now, they ask me to host the show. So I wondered, how did I go from being not funny enough to be even allowed in the building, to being so funny that I'm now hosting the show? How did I suddenly get so goddamn funny?! It was inexplicable to me, because, let's face it, a year and a half is not enough time for a dude to learn how to be funny! Then it occurred to me, I haven't gotten funnier, the show has gotten really bad! So, yeah, I'm funny compared to, you know, what you'll see later. Okay, so let's recap, the bad news is: I'm still not funny. The good news is: The show blows!'

Can someone explain why Cardplayer's coverage is so horrible this year? I know Bluff got certain rights, but Cardplayer is wayyyy behind everyone else. They don't even have Hellmuth listed on their chip counts. The few updates they do give are horrible.

"running well?" --The guy made 4 final tables last year and will probably make as many final tables this year. He has the most bracelets and cashes ever. If you noticed from the updates, he is not involved in these all-in preflop coin-flips. He plays a little differently than everyone else. In the event he just won a bracelet in, when it got down to two tables, he started getting hyper-aggressive, raising every pot. In this event, it looks like he is staying out of the way more, letting everyone else kill each other off with coin-flips.

Pretty much took the words right out of my mouth. He more than doubled his stack without ever being all in. Just brilliant poker. Must be nice to "run well" for the past 20 years.

Yeah, and he is making amazing reads. He had 44 and called an all-in post-flop from a guy who he read as being pair-less and weak. The funny thing is, everyone underestimates Hellmuth's game, when nobody really knows how he plays. All the hyper-aggressive players underestimate him. There are like 20 threads on 2+2 with geeky internet twerps saying Phil sucks. Its hilarious. Phil only went all-in once prior to the final table in the event he won bracelet #11 in.

Shock and amazement! You CAN FT without racing once.

It's called post-flop play. Damn if some people would learn that term, online poker would get so much more fun :P.
