Or let him answer it here, so we can all hear the advice :P

I just recently had a Rocky Patel Vingtage 1992(3?) and it was one of my favorites, cost about $10. Had some sort of Montecristo which was about $12 and I didn't like it nearly as much as the Patel.

I think I may like the Patel just because of the movie Glengarry Glen Ross.

Re: cigars??

good brands

--Sancho Panza Double Maduro
-Rocky Patel (anything)
-Arturo Fuente (anything except probly curly heads)4-5+
-Carlos Torano (anything) but i really like the virtuoso
-CAO i've only tried the Brazilia and the Italia... both very good and basically everything from them is good... but a bit pricy
-Punch Elite maduros are very good as well

those are my basic favorites but anyone working in a cigar shop will know what to hook you up with, and btw the higher the price of the smoke doesn't always mean its better, the sancho panzas are 2-3 bucks and some of my favorites whereas other brands can be 10+ and not come close to them

side note, anyone trying to buy cuban Cohiba cigars... if they come in a glass top box they are fakes.

Re: cigars??

Why is it no one else talks about Rocky Patel? The one I had was great, yet I never hear anyone mention them.

You mean no one other than 2 of the four replies before yours?

OP, there's a huge cigar thread somewhere in El Diablo's forum with tons of useful info.

Cubans aren't all that great anymore. The high end Dominicans have caught up and in four or five cases, passed them by.

Re: cigars??

Since your in the med. wait and get them there.

I don't know about the cost overseas but try these (if they fit your budget)

In no particular order:

Arturo Fuenta
Dunhill
Davidoff Signature
cohiba esplendida

All these, except the cohiba and the davidoff, should fit in your budget.

I love the davidoff signatures. If you drag a big pot overt there you have to try them or the cohiba.

Re: cigars??

Arturo Fuentes are great, in your price range (around $6-$10 each, depending on the size), pretty commonly available, and not so strong that they'll knock you on your ass. I like the 8-5-8s.

The Arturo Fuente Hemingway line's a little more expensive, but are even better, and are pretty cool looking too. They're a "perfecto" type cigar, fat in the middle and skinny at both ends, like the big-$$$ tycoons used to smoke in old cartoons.

Are you wanting to buy some cigars to take with you or are you wanting to buy some while in the Mediterranean?

Where will you be before the cruise?
