Re: Meh? Hot? Not?
i assume the plan is to c/r ai. not standard but certainly nothing wrong with it.

Re: Meh? Hot? Not?
reraise preflop. If he has a tight raising range utg shortie is calling with anything or pushing. You are 80% certain to get it in if you reraise.

Re: Meh? Hot? Not?
My guess is that this person is taking some manner of short stack shot. Whether they bought in for 300 or more and has been ground down is somewhat relevant I suppose, but not too much so.
On the whole, I like the maneuver as people at the site I'm assuming you're playing on tend to be more protective of their stack during shots than those on others. Additionally, if your opponent is aware of how you play, he'll put you on such a wide range when the flop falls that you should be able to get the loot. |
Re: Meh? Hot? Not?
fine I would prob just cc flop too
|
Re: Meh? Hot? Not?
An Under the Gun donk at $5/10 sitting with $300 is usually calling this push after he raises 3x UTG with most anything so I am indifferent to how we play it between CR/AI or putting him in preflop.

Re: Meh? Hot? Not?
I like a small c/r, they never fold a pair.

Re: Meh? Hot? Not?
if i took this line i wouldnt even bother a flop c/r. i would just try and check/call myself all in. and of course shove river if he doesnt shove turn.
i like the play given stack sizes, especially if you think he views you as pretty tight |

I doubt he is good enough to have any read 2.) If he has a read I'm by far the loosest player at the table, as always |
Re: Meh? Hot? Not?
i like betting it out on the flop, he ost likely will put u on a k and shove with a lot of hands. If ur more shallow or maybe deeper a check raise makes more sense.
|
Re: Meh? Hot? Not?
I'd prefer to reraise smallish preflop, like 3x, then make small trappy bets postflop until he is all in. Your line is kind of tough because it's hard to stack him unless he hits something or has something big to begin with. I don't think it's bad, but I like milking shortstacks because it works so well.
|
Re: Meh? Hot? Not?
I think a shortie raising UTG would be more likely to invest some chips preflop with a bad hand than he would be to make a pot committing continuation bet. Some bad players haven't read Super System and don't know you are supposed to bet pretty much every flop when you are PFR.
So I like ipokeder's advice. |
Re: Meh? Hot? Not?
65 is almost a minraise and shortstacks NEVER fold for such good odds
flop bet of 40 is just so small that he'll convince himself to call with ace high turn bet of 50 welllllll it's cheap, pot is big... hes probably bluffing... i might hit... river well the rest of my stack is in so what the hell maybe he has 5 high there you go QED |
Re: Meh? Hot? Not?
ikestoys, THIS is why ur hot.
|
Re: Meh? Hot? Not?
i agree w/ ipokeder 100% fwiw.
|
Re: Meh? Hot? Not?
Shorties don't fold if they open preflop, so I reraise preflop. I would like this more if UTG had like 600-700, then they usually don't auto stack off preflop.

|
Re: Meh? Hot? Not?
i think he plays on absolute where there are 200bb games.
