Re: AK good check on turn?
bet turn and prob fold to raise. i am more inclined to bet with the spade there than without because you dont want to give free cards to a hand with one spade and its easier to fold if he raises.

Re: AK good check on turn?
who is villain, and what is his UTG limping range
with no reads, this is fine i guess. |

Re: AK good check on turn?
I think turn bet is better. It's not like he's only peeling flop with a flush draw, and you would have a pretty easy fold to a c/r. Also I would hate to give a free card to a single spade.
On the other hand, if he's going to bet any non-spade river, checking to induce a bluff might be better than a turn bet. |

Re: AK good check on turn?
If I get called on the turn if I bet do I c/c river or value bet again
|
Re: AK good check on turn?
I bet like $90 on the flop and play turn/river the same.
|
Re: AK good check on turn?
yeah my flop bet was a little too small
|
Re: AK good check on turn?
I would fold the river. T9 or a flush is very likely. I think turn check is fine.
|
Re: AK good check on turn?
you fold this river getting 3:1?

Re: AK good check on turn?
I like how you played it and often play it the same.
|
Re: AK good check on turn?
Dont fold the river.
Turn can go either way, i usually prefer to bet/fold, and get some more value on the river if he calls. |
Re: AK good check on turn?
minraise the river.
|
Re: AK good check on turn?
i think the real trouble comes when he ch/calls the turn then donks the same river card for half of a much bigger pot.
|
Re: AK good check on turn?
So what hands are villain possible to hold?
|

minraise the river. [/ QUOTE ] yeah i like this, though i make it a little more than min |

[ QUOTE ] minraise the river. [/ QUOTE ] yeah i like this, though i make it a little more than min [/ QUOTE ] Why? Villain limp / called preflop, so he can very well have a suited connector that turned a flush. It is very unlikely he limp / called AJ or AQ. Do you think villain will pay a minraise / little more than minraise off with an ace and a weak kicker? |

Re: AK good check on turn?
I think betting the turn makes the hand easier to play but isn't optimal
|
Re: AK good check on turn?
why?
|
Re: AK good check on turn?
because we can easily fold to a raise and he folds a lot of hands that we beat that he may bet on the river
|
Re: AK good check on turn?
i agree completely with both of your posts kolotoure

Re: AK good check on turn?
I would like a turn bet to get hands with a single spade off. Once you checked the turn he was probably going to bet the river no matter what, so it's an auto river call (Not to mention the pot odds for calling). Although I would prefer a turn bet, what you did was okay also.

Re: AK good check on turn?
i like how this hand was played, though sometimes i bet/fold the turn. but yeah, def call river as played.
|
Re: AK good check on turn?
so you guys check behind here with a set too?
|
Re: AK good check on turn?
Jesus, bet turn. If he has a flush, you guys are going to call the river anyways. So either way, you are going to lose one bet no matter what if has a flush. Go for max value and bet turn and river. Alot of weak aces are going to call 3 bets as long as you don't shove river. Only reason why you want to check turn is that if you think he would do tricky bluffs
