You butchered this one, bro.

With such a drawy board, I'm trying to get my chips in the middle as fast as possible.

Re: AA do i have to fold?

what difference does it make if i get my chips in the middle on the flop or not? i'm either losing on the flop or i'm gonna win

Re: AA do i have to fold?

he minbet the flop, he could be on a draw, there are plenty out there. You want to get your money in the pot with the best hand. If you've put it in after being outdrawn, you've made a mistake and been outplayed. It's not a bad beat if you butcher the hand like this.

Re: AA do i have to fold?

Flop play is pretty fugly; I'd definitely check-raise pot in that spot. It makes your hand pretty transparent and makes the hand easier to play: most of the time you're re-raised after the check-raise you're beat and when villian calls you're usually ahead.

Given this action, I flat call his bet. I'd be a little lost, looking to re-evaluate on the river.

FWIW, converter has BB calling a $1, where it says you made it $1.35 to go.

How would you play the turn after a PSB?

Re: AA do i have to fold?

You have to raise that flop, just calling gives you no information on your opponents hand and worse gives your opponent the chance to draw out on you for FREE! He still might draw out on you but at least make him pay for it

Re: AA do i have to fold?

why do i HAVE to raise the flop? doesn't pot control mean anything??? no draws hit on the turn so the lead in the hand definitely didn't switch after the turn.

are you kidding? you have top pocket pair, you dont want pot control. c/r the flop for the love of god. who cares that the turn didnt complete a draw. if the turn was a club you would have been whining like a little girl that he got to see it so cheap and that your aces got sucked out on. by flat calling the flop, you give him the pot.

Me too. You have to bet this flop:
1) for value
2) to protect against the str8 & flush draw out there
3) for information...if you were truly beat on the flop, you could've found out for a whole hell of a lot less money.

Re: AA do i have to fold?

dont try and c/r this flop just LEAD!! there is absolutely no reason not to cbet. obv since you did check you have to raise.

you want to go for pot control when you're either way ahead or way behind... when you're way ahead 85% and slightly ahead 10% ya need to make the pot has huge as possible!

sup bro

I think its an easy fold bro. When sombody raises the turn they usually have a good hand that can beat the top pair.

Triggerle 06-04-2007 04:12 AM

Re: AA do i have to fold?

I lead the flop because I was the pre-flop raiser and I lead almost all flops after I raise.

As played you need to raise the flop because you are either ahead and do it for value or behind and he will tell you sooner. When he 3bets the turn it's time to get out of the hand unless your read is that he is retarded.

Edit: just saw that you are short. Then you can't really fold to the turn bet. Reload before the hand.

After reading responses i feel like we are being levelled - OP, your job with this hand is to get as much into the pot as fast as you can. Please dont ever ever use a phrase like "pot control" with a hand like this ever.

Pot control does mean something. But if that is your reason for not raising this flop then u can't play the turn as u did. His minbet on the flop might be a blocking bet to see the turn. If he is on a draw u have to make him pay for drawing.

Re: AA do i have to fold?

After rethinking this... I think... yes, I am pretty sure, that you have to bet the flop!

Re: AA do i have to fold?

Bet the flop.

And even if you didn't post his AF I'm happy when I get him all-in and feel that too regardless of the results and think of the 17$ they donate when they show stuff like JT, without a flush draw obv.

Ok i think it has been established that we need to bet flop
but i can see jerrys reasons for not namely villan's tendency to bet or raise turn (im still raising flop though)

i think this is always a call given that villan raises turn 50% of the time together with the fact that his VP$IP and he call 16% of raises

Re: AA do i have to fold?

what the hell does the villain have here? I'm guessing either JJ+ or a set. I mean after the 2 on the turn, he goes nutz.
