Re: Another Filthy Hand...

I would call pretty quickly. I'm assuming he would 3bet AA,KK,JJ because he is on the button where his range for 3 betting is quite wide and he is more likely to get action.

The only hand you are worried about is QT and it does make sense, but I couldn't fold here.

very tough.
pot odds are a little too good to fold though. I bet he has QT>50% of the time though.

Re: Another Filthy Hand...

i don't know how you play but i imagine a 'good tag' as described will view your river bet as a 'value-block' type thing, and his stack is good to shove over. not sure how advanced this guy is but i wouldn't be too shocked to see him show up w/ a pair turned into a bluff. basically i would call pretty quick but just giving some reason as to why.

You played the hand well, as long as you call river.

OMG. OMG. OMG.

first of all. OMG OMG OMG. this makes me want to throw up. if you're thinking about folding this, you have some kind of problem, seriously.

YES, filthy, WITHOUT A DOUBT. is a huge huge HUGE nit, and YES, he's terrible, and NO pretty much never bluffing here.

but the fact that he can be value betting worse turns this into a snap call. if he hit 34dd i want you to tell him GG NIT-FISH and then laugh at him. tlel him if he's going to float he's got to know what to do when he doesn't hit the gutshot, which, inevitably, he DOES NOT know how to do.

cliffnotes: filthy's a nit, and you are too, filthy's a fish, so call, if you folded, you're a fish too, etc.

Agreed, it's quite shocking that a $5/$10 reg has made this post, this is an no-brainer even at mircro-stakes nl.

Re: Another Filthy Hand...

The post does not explain position, but I'm surprised there were no ealier posts that put him on AK. If he had position on you and you were betting into him, that could be a position where he could easily put you on a weaker ace and continue to let you do the betting, until the river where he looks to maximize his profit (or so he thinks). There is a chance he could of course have Q10, but with the odds out there its a little better than a coin toss so I would have to call.

Re: Another Filthy Hand...

I think this is closer than everyone else is suggesting.

Bluffing this river is pretty much retarded, I mean what would you put OP betting 3 streets like this on this board?

I don't see any worse hands he could be value shoving except for a badly played aces up. But i call anyway.

Re: Another Filthy Hand...

This is close, especially if he is a bad nit. I think I like 220 if you want to induce a bluff shove, or my preference is 450 so the decision is simple.

Re: Another Filthy Hand...

I don't know why you guys are saying snap call. The 5/10 games plays really passive and nitty most of the time. I used to consider this stuff cold-decks but any winner (i'm not one) needs to be getting away from this a large percentage of the time.

call- probably more likely a valueshove with AJ rather than QT or 34dd and there's tons of $ in pot

Re: Another Filthy Hand...

AE, filth has won about a gajillion times as much as you at Stars 5/10 I'm pretty sure

That said, so has redargoe and I think he sucks too. Same for voodoowiz but he somehow beats 25/50. Pretty sure everyone at 5/10 sucks including me and you ae...I mean, come on, its msnl.

not trying to start a battle or anything but sometimes you are just unbearably cocky

lol. playing 10 times as much as me will, invariably, result in winning more than me. even i'm not THAT good.

whatever, i don't care if you guys think he's good... i'm glad you all set your standards so low. redargoe and filthy both play so many hours that it would be nearly impossible for them to be longtime losers.

that said, my winrate is probably 3x theirs, my hand analysis is probably 10x theirs, and my ego is probably 20x theirs.

so whatever.

i call here pretty quickly. i've only played with him once or twice, but i've seen him raising/shoving to river block bets (or at least bets that look that way..) often. i didn't see him as that nitty when i played him, pretty solid though
