variance help

how does everyone deal with variance/monkey tilt? i think i need to start excersising again or something to get my mind off poker. im pretty sure i have a partypoker bike somewhere.

basically my last 3 weeks have been consistant losing at the highest stakes leading to the worst case of lifetilt/lack of confidence in my entire life. bbv what it do?

Re: variance help

Why don't you stick to 5k and 10k NL? Obviously the swings of 2-60k nl hurt you as per this post.

Do you think you have an edge in those games?

learn a new game like o8 or stud. play much lower and just treat it like a pet project until you get your head straight for nl.

and stay the [censored] away from HU, as it is assuredly the easiest way to turn a bad run into life busto.

and get a dog maybe?

I don't understand why you don't just crush 5k nl and make a nice income from that...

Learn how to invest the money won from "low stakes" and then make good cash from that and rely less and less on poker.

Dude you've obviously got some serious issues. You're not built to be a professional. I hope you get on every next season of HSP though.

mental discipline, some people have it, others do not.

in theory it can be learned but I've never seen conclusive proof of this.

Please indulge us in our Schadenfreud and post graphs, please.

[n. SHAW-den-froy-duh] Taking malicious satisfaction in another person's troubles is schadenfreude. Even though there may be some guilt involved, this noun comes in handy when someone feels glee or gloats over another person's suffering. Example: "She had a feeling of schadenfreude when the boy who dumped her was unable to find a date for the prom." Sometimes capitalized, schadenfreude is a compound of two German words: schaden (damage) and freude (joy). ...

Here are some random thoughts, not in any particular order
1. [ QUOTE ]
table selection

[/ QUOTE ]
2. it can't be worse than that time your 3fo6s boat got beat by 3fo7s
3. give some of your money to charity
4. spend like 3 hrs a day working on full mental control
5. unless you were severely underrolled at 1-2+ or unless you lost like 2/3 of your roll, you can drop down to 25-50

exercizing everyday helps me alot. It's definitely nice to run in the park and clear your mind. Also, helps if you have an ipod with good music.

obviously u don't got the mindset down...u aren't a ZEN BALLER yet. I was there that night u tilted off 300k in a drunken rage while u berated every player who won a pot off you...it was kinda disgraceful...i wouldn't even doubt Full Tilt doomswitching you cause of how you acted on their site...

im no where near your limits, but I found that lifting and working out like 4-5 times a week for a couple hours each time makes you feel alot better. I know it sounds stupid but I really think it helps me focus and all around play better. Also you get more fit and confident about yourself.

I love Grimm...despite the night of rage! BUt ya...for sure u gotta try Zenning it up...its something me and my friends do to try and prevent King Kong Monkey Tilt! Then if u ZEN (yes it is now a verb) u are on your way to Zen Balling! but not quite at the level of EuroZenBaller...but close...
