Just wondering what songs people would want included in guitar hero III if they got their choice. I'll list mine later.

I think "Alive" by Pearl Jam would be pretty sweet. It's not even one of my favorite PJ songs, but the solo at the end would be killer.

Sweet Child 'O Mine, unless it's already on one of them.

To be honest, I've never played any of the Guitar Heroes, but would buy it just for this song.

I can play the main riff on guitar no problem, but the solo wastes me for some reason, and it's really not that hard. To at least be able to play it on Guitar Hero would be enough for me.

Also, Stash by phish... Again, I have the main part down, but once it gets into the solo (especially the A Live One version), I'm lost. TBH, from the YouTube clips I've seen of Guitar Hero, Stash would be a sweet-ass song for this game.

Honestly though, Metallica is notoriously stingy when it comes to letting anyone do anything with their songs. I was very surprised that they let Kid Rock and Korn cover a few of their songs

I read a story that said Metallica was developing their own video game, which is why they turned down Guitar Hero 2.

Any tool is def. correct, I would love to see 46&2 or some of the other awsome ones. Metallica as well, obviously, and they have said a bunch of the "Big titles" they have been trying to get in the previous games finally gave in for GH3, so maybe we will see some Metallica & Zepplin, we'll see =]

Battle Mode

IGN announced the game would feature a new multiplayer game mode called Battle Mode.[16] The mode puts a twist on the traditional Pro Face-off mode introduced in Guitar Hero II. Two players will face each other, trying to complete a song while successfully playing Star Power sequences to earn power-ups that can be used against their opponents. Players will be able to store 3 power-ups at a time and can activate them by tilting their guitars upward. If neither player fails the song, they will face each other in a sudden death segment. The power-ups will include:

* Broken string: One button on the opponent's guitar will not work until it is fixed (by rapidly tapping the button).
* Difficulty up: The opponent will play the song on an increased difficulty for a short duration of time (except for expert difficulty).
* Amp overload: The fret board will shake and appear blurry, making the scrolling notes difficult to read.
* Whammy bar: The opponent will have to use the whammy bar before he/she can play notes again.
* Steal power: This will steal your opponent's power-up.
* Double notes: The opponent will have to play twice as many notes for a short duration of time.
* Lefty flip: The fret board will be mirrored, requiring the player to switch their handedness on the guitar.
