Can you trust UB?

Since I downloaded the new version of UB almost a month ago I haven"t been able to get into the site. I get the log in box and log in ok but it doesn't take me anywhere. The only item under the File tab is exit.

Customer service has emailed me numerous things to try but none of them have worked. I scheduled an appointment on two different days this week for them to contact me to take over my computer to fix the problem but they didn't contact me.

I've asked them to send me a check since I can"t get to the cashier but they won't do it. I've asked for someone to contact me via telephone but they won't do that either.

They say how great their customer service is and how safe our money is, bah humbug!!

I'll be happy to forward all of the e-mail to anyone that would like to read it.

I got my money out of there thankfully and don't have plans to ever play there again.

So my answer is NO.

Ugh...well my Dad (who lives several states away from me and is computer illiterate) called me yesterday to tell me that he can't log into any UB games. He gets logged into the site, but can't play.

I personally don't play on/know anything about UB. Any ideas as to what his problem may be? Thanks.

If you ever get in and try to cash out, then the REAL fun begins.

From what I hear, no, UB is not trustworthy and their customer service sucks. If you ever get your money out and need to picv a new site make sure its not pokerstars, because you can't trust them either, cause their site rigged.

I have a cashout of 2000 that is still pending from UB. I wouldn't recommend playing there.

UB has changed over the past several years. I believe it was reported here that the company that owns Absolute Poker now owns UB. Also since Neteller dropped off the planet, deposits are hard, and now cashouts are even worse. Long delays, run around emails with their customer service, and reports of some checks bouncing.

Back in 2002-2003 UB was around one of the top poker sites. They had a ton of players on the site. Now logging into the site it is a ghost town.

I think UB had some of the best tournament structures out there, but over all these years they have hardly upgraded their software. It is basically a modified version of IE. Which is a really cheap way to run poker software for a site.

Personally with all the bad results people have had, and how their CS has downgraded over the past few years, I really wouldn't trust them.

I'm really liking UB.

I made a withdraw last week and all went smooth.

They have really nice tournaments and some of the players are less than great.

As a matter of fact, I took down the $2,000 Guaranteed less than an hour ago.

I'll probably make another withdraw very soon.

I've never had a problem with UB.
My last withdrawal arrived by mail in less than two weeks - and I haven't had any problems with their software lately. (Had some issues early in 2006).

Although my last cashout was quick I still trust UB less then any other large site. They have done too many shady things over the years to trust IMO.

make sure ur internet explorer is at least the 6.0 version.
you cant play with anything lower. I've always had great support and quick withdrawals with ub.

I just won the 30K Guaranteed, so I'll be able to answer this question definitively.

I'll be withdrawing $8,000 in $2,500 increments over the course of the next week to my Epassport account.

I'm withdrawing it incrementally as to not go over the $5,000 limit that Epassport has established for requiring further documentation.

Coy_Roy 05-29-2007 10:36 AM

Re: Can you trust UB?

It's been 7 hours since my withdraw of $2500 and it's already in my Epassport account.

I can only withdraw $600 per day from my Epassport to my bank(lame), so I'll ask for another withdraw from UB as soon as I clear all the money from my epassport account.

UB looking quite trustworthy so far.

Re: Can you trust UB?

I've read some very vague things here but see no solid reason not to trust UB. Are there any particular reasons other then slow customer service response?

There are other sites I like better overall but UB still has the fastest action and the re-match option after a heads-up match is wonderful and +EV.

My .02 ;~)

Re: Can you trust UB?

You want a solid reason?

Several months ago they had a major server crash (actually a few of them) when I was playing a tournament with a friend of mine. I had to email them several times, give THEM specific information about the tournament, and wait weeks to have my money refunded. My friend never bothered to email them, so they simply kept his money along with a ton of other people who were equally lazy I'm sure. In other words, they are proven thieves.

Their customer service has always sucked. That is not a reason to not trust a site though.
