Live Tournament Hand - 66 flopping undercards and open ender
 

This is a hand from a live tournament I played today. I tried to include all details as accurately as possible. If I left anything out please ask. Some numbers are approximate.

I was just moved to this table. I had to sit the first hand out when I would have been the button. That hand was raised preflop and everyone else folded. No reads on any player. I think I misplayed this hand so please give feedback. I was a little nervous to my surprise because I haven't played live in a long time.

What's your play on the flop?

I'd call and re-evaluate on the turn. You're never folding out an over pair on that board and that makes up much of villains range. If you hit your straight or set you'll almost always double through villain if he has an over pair. If villain has overs or a mid pair he'll sometimes check the turn and you might get a cheap showdown.

I like to call here. You are not deep enough to push out any pocket pairs unless a scare card falls. If he doesn't have a pocket pair then his most likely holding is AX and you want him to stay in the hand with AX so that: a) he can keep firing with the worst hand and b) you can stack him if you spike a deuce.

Eh, I think I would have raised the flop. Against anything but a made straight you have 10 outs.

With a pot of ~2,600 I am shoving right over the top of his flop bet.

yeah but he's still behind on the flop. On the turn, I call if I have odds to hit set/straight and missing doesn't cripple me.

1200 to see 4600 with 10 outs and one card to come. Assuming hero isn't already ahead and that a 6 doesn't complete villians hand.

I fold here because I detest bleeding chips like this

There are 160 players left and the average M is less than 10. This sounds like a super fast tournament. It that case, I'm inclined to shove on that flop.

In hindsight I agree I should have raised the flop. It gives me fold equity and in this case I would have likely won the pot right there. I know that is results oriented thinking but I feel it would be correct regardless. Raising his flop bet to 2,000 would probably be optimal. The Ms in this tourney were all pretty low so smaller raises get more respect because they mean that much more of someone's stack. As it played out I put 2,000 in the pot after the flop anyway but I had no fold equity. I played it so weak it's been making me sick. I almost folded the turn but that seemed like an even weaker play to me because his bet was small in relation to the pot. Any thoughts?

you think in a mid-level game that way that hand played out that he would have folded the flop with AK in the face of your reraise? i think not, not with relevent stacks as they are. our villian proberly thinks hes ahead, or has 10 outs drawing to the best hand
