Lol to that. I'd like to see how much you crush it for. Would love to see that PT screen shot.

As far as Empire Maker2 goes he is obviously a very good player but I'm not so sure a ultra tight style is going to get it done at the bigger limits these days. I have a lot of repect for him when I do sit with him but there is certainly no fear factor that I feel compared to when I've sat with some of the other successful higher limit pros. Again. I think he's a vgood player so don't misinterpret this. Not impressed with gambler2k4 at all btw on many levels.

For sure in some cases, but if you are a young kid and want $50k for life (increasing with inflation) it would probably cost something like $2 million if you went out and bought an annuity.

Using the $2 mil example, I'm going to say it would be extremely difficult to retire on that at 20, especially if you plan on having kids down the line, owning property, etc.

But it all depends on what you want from life. With modest requirements, flexibity, some wise financial decisions, and a little luck, you can live a happy lifetime from a relatively small amount of capital.

One quick example: You could rent out a modest house out here in the UK, live comfortably in a beautiful spot in the devoloping world, and all the while your equity would, with a little luck, be appreciating. Sure, there could be problems, and you need to be smart and flexible, but it's simply not the case many people can't get through life on $2 million.

Add in the words "semi-retire" or "actively invest" and suddenly you can set yourself up with a lot less.
