Puking during hangovers
 

Who here pukes in the morning after a night of balls to the wall drinking? I have never once thrown up the next morning, even with the most collosal of hangovers. Never even had the slightest urge, even when it felt like hordes of angry Jamaican steel drummers were practicing on my cabeza.

I never did, despite being a very heavy drinker, until the day after my 21st birthday. Since then it has happened a couple of times. Dry heaving stomach acid really, really sucks, so consider yourself lucky. I think it's one of those things that once it happens the first time, its more likely to happen again.

I have "purged" while drinking, in order to allow me to continue drinking, but am one of the lucky ones who have never, EVER had a hangover the next day. Now, I've woken up still drunk or slightly buzzed the next day, but no headache, no vomiting, no sickness, nothing.

It's one of the reasons why I drink so much and am a self proclaimed "Most Functioning Alcoholic" you'll ever meet.

I have often been nautious and felt like throwing up during very bad hangovers, but haven't as of yet.

Done it a few times - there's also two occasions I can recall where my body not only refused to hold solid food, but I was vomiting water+stomach acid until mid-late afternoon.

I've always been a morning puker, rarely immediately after drinking.

Sometimes it makes you feel better, sometimes much worse.

that sucks, especially since in my experience nothing cures a lingering hangover better than a greasy pizza in the afternoon.

I almost never puke the night of drinking....unless its a lack of space for beer in my stomach. But if I drink enough to get hungover the next day...I nearly always puke the next morning. It sucks. It's nearly always pure bile and leaves my teeth feeling gritty for the whole day. Also....the drunken effects from the alcohol that ease drunken vomiting are no longer present. Be glad that you do not.

something like three times on the night, never in the morning. but very close on one or two occasions. i just can't bring myself to force it out as i really hate vomiting.

One time in college I puked the morning after a night of heavy drinking I thought it was due to the hangover, but it turned out I had picked up a stomach virus.

I don't really even get hangovers unless I get sloppy stupid drunk, which I never do any more (at my age, my body just can't take that kind of abuse any more).

I have puked the next morning, but it's not too often considering the amount of times I have booted and rallied during a night of drinking.

Been close the morning after.

If I do puke it's the night of. I don't like to even if drunk. Usually I'll ride the spins until I fall asleep. If that doesn't work it's a one way ticket to an acceptable place to vomit, hopefully a bathroom. I always hold it in the next morning, though I did come close once in the shower...

I thought about posting something along these lines too, but decided that there was no reason to call him out because from the rest of his post it's pretty obvious he knows very little about drinking. Also there's never a way to settle things like this and they just end up being big e'dick waving matches.

Just so happens I'm female, and I stand by my claim.

Many have tried, everyone has failed. Some 2 +2 'rs can attest to this, as can some RGP'rs.

Only when I started out. I would drink 6 beers and a bottle of vodka, puke my guts out before sleeping and then puking next morning. Doesn't happen anymore.
Edit: This [censored] happens after 4 days of hard drinking, you can't hold anything. Even water comes out.

I'm tempted to meet you halfway in Wickenburg, but to be fair I'm drinking quite a bit less these days and the thought of "training to get back in shape" isn't very appealing.

Ohhh, I have friends in Wickenburg. In fact, I'll be in Phoenix soon, perhaps I should look you up when I get there? Casino Arizona? That's where Howard Beale met me and angel that he was, saved up all his (and others) drink coupons that he could and still had to pay for a few at the end of the night.

To be fair myself, I do have a secret weapon, which is usually not fair for me not to admit to when challenged.

However, you come across as a smart gentleman who chose to not challenge me under your "out of training" excuse, so I'll keep mum on the secret for now.

Heh, yeah I've done that 3 or 4 times. Really made me learn (and stick to) my limits when drinking now. That feeling is the worst, like "Fk off stomach, there's nothing more in there"

But puking or feeling nauseous is the only kind of hangover I get. Never headaches or anything and the majority of the fine I'm fine in the morning.

GB was my second guess, but I don't know enough about what organs take in or don't take in alcohol to know how much of an advantage it would be.

Thus, allowing me to get drunk/buzzed quicker but then sober up quicker as well, allowing me to continue drinking throughout the night in a get drunk/get sober never ending circle. Unless I don't time it right, then I get wasted and I cut myself off (unless the floor/bartender beats me too it) however, when I am in the middle of a challenge I make sure not to overdue it and limit myself, which is still going 1:1 with the normal person.

If I puke it's going to be while I'm drinking and I'm still totally plowed.
Maybe an hour or two after I've finished drinking at the most.
Never ever the morning after.

GF is exactly the opposite. She could get way hammered and will never puke that night.
But the next morning she's going to be puking at 8am or 10am or whatever if she had 6 or 7 drinks the night before.

I had never heard of this before and thought it was pretty weird.
Interesting that she's not the only one in this category.

Yeah, my gf chucking like an olympian this morning is what prompted the question. Maybe I shouldn't have given her that last double tall drink of rum + crystal light.

Pretty interesting that only a third of people in the poll so far never puke. I thought it might be more.

What age is that, if you don't mind my asking?

I'm 32, and I definitely have far fewer all out drunken nights than I did 5-10 years ago. I find now that if I do really go all-out (let's say 8-10 hard booze drinks or more in a night), I not only have a rough hangover the next day, but I even still fill a bit out of it the day after that (with no alcohol on that second night obviously).

I rarely get a hangover if I'm not downing hard liquor. I can drink a ton of beer and wine, and got solidly drunk, and not wake up with much of a hangover. If I'm drinking something like scotch, or (the worst hangover drink) tequila, i'm in for a rough one the next day.

I never understood how people could go out drinking and then puke the next morning without throwing up that night. Then I got "old" (haha like 22), did it once, and realized that morning puking is like the 12th circle of hell or something.

I never throw up that night, its always the next morning. When I'm sick the next morning I throw up for hours. I throw up so hard that I break blood vessels in my eyes and face. good times.

I've only puked once the morning after. It was after I turned 18.

I think I drank a lot that night. But I can't remember.

The only time I would puke the next morning is when I got so blasted that the spinning occurred and I passed out. Then it would be a wicked hangover plus pukeaments. Now I know if I'm going to end up in that state, I might "accelerate the process." It's what you learn outside of class in college that really matters.

The last time I puked in the morning was a long time ago. Worst part of that memory is the basically whole pizza crusts and a plum, probably eaten in 2 bites based on the "evidence", and that it occured while taking a shower-- it was everywhere and wasn't going down the drain.
