Is Pot Limit Omaha/8 spread at Lucky Chances?
 

I haven't been over to the Bay Area in a while. A friend who just moved to Monterey noticed that Lucky Chances has a link on their website indicating that they spread a PLO8 game.

Can one of you Bay Area regulars confirm whether this game is spread regularly (or at all)?

O8B is spread there regularly, though not more than 1 or 2 tables. I think its a 4/8 game. I believe I've read here that PLO has been spread, but its relatively uncommon.

Crashjr, if you and anybody else you know want to play this please let me know and maybe we can all show up on the same day and try to get it spread. I would love to play it.

no, they have a 4-8 omaha8 everyday and 10-20 omaha8 on thurs, but never plo.

I don't think there has ever been a regular PLO8 B&M game anywhere. I saw it once in Tunica during tournament time but it definately was a one shot deal.

I've seen a 4/8 kill.... once. It's a rare bird from my experience so you will most likely have to sign up and play another game until a table starts up.

ive asked them to fire up plo on numerous occasions, they dont do it anymore and no one could remember the last time it happened.

i heard a rumor that they did spread plo along time ago, but a bunch of reno pros would come down and crush the game so bad that nobody wanted to play it anymore. Ive tried to get them to change the 10-20 omaha8 to a dealers choice or even a HORSE but they wouldnt go for it.

It runs regularly at River Rock Casino in Vancouver, BC. 5/5 PLO8, max buyin $500. Ridiculous action, too.

btw there is a 10/20 o8 game at LC on thursday nights.

Thanks for the replies everyone. A trip to River Rock does sound tempting.

It does not sound encouraging that we could ever get a PLO8 game going at LC, especially considering none of us who want to play are local/regular there.

I remember Mark Gritter looking to play PLO at LC. He's natively out of state but travels to the Bay Area a lot. I seem to remember vmacosta saying that he'd make the effort if a game went There were a couple of names on the interest list the last time this subject came up. Someone might want to do a search for the subject and go roughly six months back. I think Gritter started the thread.

i believe you are referring to the regular 10/20 limit o8 game there (my apologies in advance if im wrong).

LC used to run a plo game some years ago but broke it up. there was a group of players that would come down from like, portland/seattle/northern hinterlands that were smashing the game, just absolutely killing it, to the point where regulars were going completely broke, so they broke the game up and switched to the 4/8 and 10/20 limit o8.

this was told to me by one of the floor, the extremely good natured middle aged white guy who plays the 10/20 o8 game regularly.

btw if plo is back at LC, this is truly an amazing turn of events.

edit: after re-reading, kurt sounds really positive it was a plo game.

to which i say; holy great goddamned.

every tuesday they spread PLO, 1000$ buyin, games start at 3pm.

This Tuesday it was a mixed game, an orbit of each. Don't know if it was just the players that night or a usual thing.

This thread is jumping around a little. The OP asked about PLO8 which is Pot limit Omaha high low split eight or better. Many of the replies mentioned PLO which is Pot Limit Omaha high only.

To the best of my knowledge PLO8 is rarely spread live.

That would be Dennis. He's the lead swing-shift floor there, and easily the best floor they have (although in for the most part, Lucky Chances' floors decent).

Friendly, knowledgable, and his eyes will make you think of Frank Senatra.

I was there last Sunday and it was mixed, 10-20 one orbit PLO and the next one PLO8. Looked like lots of fun/action.

Yes, the PLO/8 games was started a couple weeks ago and will run tentatively on Tuesdays starting at 3pm. Most of the people on the board are the 10-10-20 NL regulars, many of which are weak omaha players (I'm not guessing, I'm telling you from experience :> )

$1000 min buyin. Rotate between hi and hi/lo every orbit.
