The Lounge No Face Picture Thread
Calling all loungers to Post-A-Picture-of-Yourself without your face!
You can make it an arsty shot, a shot of you in the great outdoors, or simply a shot of your hand on the keyboard, it doesn't matter. Just try not to show your face. This thread is a result of a conversation I had with another 'Lounger.' One of us commented that it would be nice to see what our fellow loungers look like to get a feel for who they are, the other felt strongly that this ruins the forum's mystery and this lounger simply does not want to know So out of this convo we started to reminisce about the times when people posted a pic of themselves without revealing their face, kind of like the time when the guy in OOT posted a pic of his elbow once. We thought it would be funny and interesting to see what loungers decided to do with a no face picture thread So, pretty straight forward then…Post a pic of yourself sans the face or at least, no full face shots allowed. I have two pics...and oddly enough they are of the same thing. This pic actually shows my face but it is almost 30 years old, tiny, out of focus, and I have long hair, a beard and glasses, so that there is no way you would recognize me today from viewing it.
It's from a video of a concert at Royal Albert Hall on Valentine's day 1979. I managed to score a 2nd row seat for Larry Coryell, Paco de Lucia and John McLaughlin. If you think I'm handsome in that pic either your monitor works a lot better than mine or you're looking at the wrong guy. I'm just all hair, glasses and blurry nose. And yeah it's a face pic but I refuse to adhere to other people's laws. If no one ever stepped outside the artifical boundaries of right and wrong created by self appointed priests who rule over closed minds then this would be a world without colour, a world without love, in short a world I want no part of. My face shall shine in the thread of no faces. I'm the least photogenic person in the world, so this is the best I can do. It was taken in 1992, so I'm just over half my current age; just over half my current weight; and currently have just over half that much hair:

BTW, you might find it interesting that shortly after this pic was taken, the US Army kicked me out for being overweight. I've never been that thin, before or since. While the army was constantly ragging on me to lose weight, my long-time friends and family were praising me with, "You look great!" I mean, look at the size of that neck! How thin do you think I can be? I'm confident that, after all the push-ups and sit-ups, after all the running and starving, the answer to that question is in the photo. That's it. That's me at my physical peak. (What a wreck.) |
