Re: [censored] Jericho canceled

I admittedly never watched this once. I did watch the "catch up" show tho, and the premise looked great and the execution looked pretty horrible. [img]/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img]

There was so much "let's make the townspeople make horrible decisions and see if they can get out of the crap they got themselves into." There were also so much strange X-files type drama that you wouldn't expect them to do in this kind of show that detracted from the concept of them trying to live in a post apocalyptic world. In general, it was too much mystery and not enough survival/characterization/real drama for me.

Again, based on the catch up show. Actually watching it, your mileage may have varied. [img]/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img]

It's those [censored] mother-[censored] ri-[censored]-diculously long [censored] useless mid-season [censored] breaks they [censored] go on. Just [censored] run the [censored] episodes from the [censored] beginning to the mother [censored] end and you won't [censored] lose half your [censored] audience every [censored][censored][censored] year.

I kinda liked Jericho before it went on hiatus, then found it hard to go back to afterward, but did so out of loyalty. In the last few episodes, when you could tell they were ramping up for some major conflict, it got good again. Though rather implausible, I also liked how the young kid and his almost-girlfriend were basically taking over the town. That place is going to be called Potterville in a few years.

PS UglyOwl's link says one of their new shows this year is a musical starring Hugh Jackman. WTF?

aaaaaargh

Edit: What are the chances they pull a "Firefly" and make a movie to tie up all of the loose ends?

Re: [censored] Jericho canceled

This was the only network show that I watched. Of course, CBS is to blame for putting the show on a long hiatus once it just started to generate decent ratings. CBS does not know how to schedule a serial and Jericho paid for that ignorance.

Anyway, I thought the season (now series) finale was pretty bad. Totally predictable and it resolved nothing. Of course, that does not make me any less angry right now.

Agreed. The season finale was weak.

Done, though I am doubtful that these things do any good. It seems the Jericho producer is going to be in charge of one of the new shows so I think she has no motivation to fight for it at this point.

The premise to the show is intresting (I was excited at first), but the execution = a [censored] soap opera. Its Days of our Lives in postapocalyptic world, and its not even good Days of our Lives. Even Drive, while not a great show, was better than Jericho.

Firefly getting canceled way back in the day = infuriating.

I think new shows are too into the whole "leave 'em hanging" type endings ala Lost and Heroes. You aren't Lost, you aren't Heroes... make a name for yourself and entertain the audience.

Aside from that I think it was a great show.

You hit it on the head.

I guess I'm in the minority here, as I couldn't stand the show. I watched the first three or four episodes because the general idea had a lot of potential, but for me, the show was simply boring.

Maybe it picked up and the characters started to develop more (I really didn't care about the characters, which then makes almost pointless to watch), but it just didn't do it for me for the first few shows.

Uhm... Heroes ended its season just fine. Are you referring to the fact that it has an ongoing storyline rather than completely separate episodes? If so, this is the best thing about the show!!!

The few episodes right beofre and right after the hiatus were a little too soap operaish. Once they focused on the Hawkins subplot things started to pick up.

The shows has too many characters. Hopefully they kill off a few early on next season and get to focusing on 2-3 characters and the bigger picture of what's going on.
