i wouldn't bet the flop. i would probably c/c down UI

or if you do bet the flop and he raises, then i'd fold the turn. depends on the player, if their flop raise will confirm they have a pair. but if it's a crazy LAG, then calling down UI is probably a better line.

The flop bet is bad in retrospect. When I posted this I didn't realize he had 4-bet p/f. I was hoping to bully a fellow AK-type hand but he could 4-bet with QQ-AA and mabye JJ as well, making my donk a donkey move.

Fwiw I don't mind this, you guys are really putting way too much into the preflop cap it could mean anything this is a blind battle.

yeah thats right &gt; i missed that &gt; but i still dont like the Flop bet &gt; c/c is better vs most

i prefer c/c, not because i necessarily thinks he has a monster, but because i don't see what it accomplishes. if he has a worse hand, he'll never fold. but he will always bet it himself if checked to, so there's really no difference between betting and checking. but if he does have a better hand, we are getting raised.

If you want 2+ bets to go in on the flop, C/R, don't bet, the lead looks scared/weak, IMO. Against most villains, I call down U/I, against very passive, I probably fold river.

Against an unknown, you should tend to take the cautious line with marginal hands. At most, you can c/r the flop and call down. Otherwise c/c all the way. If he's going that far with AQ, AJ or KQ, then you've learned something about this player.
