Yeah, but I've been playing 6max for the last month or so and I'm not thinking about cold calling much. I suppose if it's live with more emphasis on loose than on aggressive, it may be better to just call with 77-99.

Why play 77, 88 and 99 different way? For every one of those UTG has either 2 over cards or better pair. If game is really loose and you get many callers even with 3 bets shouldn't you just call with all since you playing for trips only? And if it is likely to go heads up with 3 bets shouldn't you raise with all 3?

Most of them after I moved.

The only hands I remember playing at that table was AK vs your JJ and AQ vs KK =P.

Couple were from last time.

I ended up dropping my whole buyin /flex.

1. UTG open limps, you (UTG+1) have A2s
Call. (as long as table has not been too agressive with lots of raises preflop)

2. UTG open limps, you (UTG+1) have A8s
Call. (as above)

3. UTG open raises, you (UTG+1) have 99
If UTG raises loosely, I 3-bet. Otherwise fold.

4. UTG open raises, you (UTG+1) have 88
As above.

5. UTG open raises, you (UTG+1) have 77
Fold.

6. you (UTG) have QJs
Limp if table not too aggressive, otherwise fold.

7. you (UTG) have JTs
As above.

8. 2 mid/late limps, you (SB) have A4o
Complete.

9. 4 limps, you (SB) have T7o
Fold.

10. 2 mid/late limps, SB completes, you (BB) have QJs
Check.

11. 2 mid/late limps, SB completes, you (BB) have JTs
Check.

A lot of the above decisions seem to depend upon table conditions. ie. How likely is it that someone behind me will raise, if I limp from EP.

Re: Preflop is easy, right?

Guess not so ez since some varying responses =X.

FWIW, I call/check all of them. Wondering what people think.

It's probably loose to around avg 4-5 players a flop, and I'd say there are more limped pots than raised pots, but its not uncommon that someone raises.

I definitely can see arguments for raising JTs and QJs out of the BB.
A2s is marginal EP, so is T7o and A4o completion given the situations, but I think worth discussing.

I wouldnt call the EP raises with 77-99.

I am not sure that you have enough equity to raise JTs or QJs from the BB for value with only a couple of limpers. You are also going to have to play the hands OOP.

I think completing with A4o is ok, assuming that you are going to play well post flop. But T7o just seems a bit too weak to me.

There are very few single correct actions in poker. There are just too many variables; table, individual players in the hand, your skill/comfort level pre- and post- flop, stakes, and more. What will be a correct play for you at one set of variables will rarely be correct for me at a different set of variables. Better than trying to memorize a static pf plan you should be looking at some of these variables and trying to understand how that changes what the correct play is.

Re: Preflop is easy, right?

There's no way I'm folding a middle two gapper getting eleven to one on my money, especially knowing that it's getting raised like, less than 10% of the time.

I'd call with T7o there for sure.

I'd 3bet 99 and 88, 77 in my opinion is where things get sketchy, but realistically speaking I'm more inclined to 3bet it than fold.

loose live game i call with all of these except the A2s.

i might 3 bet 99, depends on how likely i am to get heads up. i certainly would not fold it.

again, though, depends on how comfortable you are playing potentially dominated hands like JTs, QJs, and A8s OOP.

beginners probably should fold all of these hands imo.
