Re: WPT Championship, my day THREE table. Help w/same!
PAUL SNEAD is a local N.Y tourney guy that is extremely aggressive, and with his short stack EXPECT him to move in EARLY to double up.With you being OOP keep an eye on him,as he will not be afraid to stuff his S/S with any two!!
MDK and CM as you said need no further introduction ALLEN KESSLER is a super tight-nit and will not be in desparation mode with regard to chip his count "in his mind"(LOL)yet. He will be patient early IMO. Good Luck Bryan, ~stephen |
Re: WPT Championship, my day THREE table. Help w/same!
Got that Bryan Devonshire donk again, huh? He won't last long.

Re: WPT Championship, my day THREE table. Help w/same!
Martin De Knijff is a good swedish player that won the wpt finals 3 or 4 years ago. He is known for getting extremly aggressive around the bubble when people get tight. He is pretty fearless.
Jari Sointula won in Monte Carlo some years ago. He is hellraiser on ladbrokes and an aggressive player. |
Re: WPT Championship, my day THREE table. Help w/same!
At a prelim event in Aruba a couple years back, Melissa Hayden nearly attacked some guy at her table after he made a comment about women and kitchens. I'll leave it up to you to figure out how to use that one to your advantage.

Be sure and ask Kessler if his name is Robert Varkonyi.

Re: WPT Championship, my day THREE table. Help w/same!
Allen Kessler might be the tightest player on the circuit. I suggest you bully him relentlessly.
Paul Snead is a good buddy of mine and a pretty good player. Melissa Hayden sucks at life. My only advice is: attack Kessler's blinds. |

WTG Bryan with KK knock-out
Paul Snead turned QUAD 2's vs. Carlos M.,and is approaching 200k so..... ...assuming you are still at the same table with him, they are just some more chips for you to take to reach your 600k goal today Bryan!! Awesome!! ~stephen |

Re: WPT Championship, my day THREE table. Help w/same!
I know Bryan Devonshire, he's a solid cash game player but his tournament play is somewhat lacking, but in this tournament I think he's going to be pretty solid and attacking the blinds very effectively. He's definitely capable of reraising light and making moves.

Re: WPT Championship, my day THREE table. Help w/same!
That chip bridge just blew my mind.
Pokerwire reported the Kessler hand as "Allen Kessler's kings kracked...and we'll never hear the end of it" What's the deal with that? |

Re: WPT Championship, my day THREE table. Help w/same!
Kessler loves to come over to press row and tell us about his beats. Funny guy.

Re: WPT Championship, my day THREE table. Help w/same!
His chip bridge looks like something out of TRON.

I don't understand the chip bridge. How do the chips in the middle not fall? Is this an optical illusion? Magic? Fairies? Jesus? Photoshop?

From your blog: Six hands later I opened to 22k UTG with AQ and was called only by the button. 67k in the pot, flop is 3 3 5 . I continue for 42k, and he goes all-in for somewhere between 70-80k more. I think for a long time, finally pick up a read, make the call and turn up my ace high first. [/ QUOTE ] I would be really interested to hear more about this part of the hand. |

Re: WPT Championship, my day THREE table. Help w/same!
wow, nice call with AQ. hate it when good plays are punished, but hey, what can you do?
dude, you gotta post a chip bridge tutorial. |
Re: WPT Championship, my day THREE table. Help w/same!
Can't really explain the getting of the read. I had the read earlier but I had to go through the thought process of the reads throughout the hand to come to the final conclusion. My read pre-flop was a non-pair hand, JT range-ish. I felt like he was shoving with any-pair pre-flop. The flop play I kinda sensed something going through his head like, "[censored] it. He can't call unless he has a big pair, so I'm gonna push him off the hand." My read was weakness. He had a flush-draw + pair-draw at best, but I really just felt like he didn't have anything.
Chip bridge tutorial: 1) Two stacks of any height supported on a chip foundation EXACTLY two chip diamater apart from each other. 2) On each stack, put one chip half off the stack facing the opposite stack with a second chip on top of the one half hanging off in line with the original stack. 3) Using four chips, repeat this process to extend the bridge another half a chip distance in each direction. The key here is placing the weight on the outside on top of the original stack to keep the support. The weight must bet strong on the outside to maintain the original arms. 4) At this point your two steps have given 1/2 chip distance on each stack toward the middle, and these two chips should be touching or very close to it. Put a chip on the two touching ones to complete the gap, but keep a finger underneath to maintain support, and then build the weave back to the outsides to maintain support on the outside. Enjoy!
