Need some info on some hotels in Vienna
 

Sry if I'm writing this in english but I figured I would get better feedback here rather than in the B&M forum.

I'm planning to go to Wien tomorow for a week to play live at Concord casino and would like to book a hotel. And this is what I found for 3 (will be there with 2 other m8s).

ActiLingua Apartment Hotel 3 stars

Schneidergasse 7, 1110 Vienna
At around 800e for 8 nights for 3 people.

Anyone know any better deal or should I book this one?

Thats a great deal y've made! It would be difficult to find something cheaper then this package. Never been in this hotel, but the prize is perfect.

I am from Vienna - don't know the Hotel but it's very cheap - that's 33 Euro/night per person. You will be meeting funny people in the Concord casino [img]/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img] - what stakes do you usually play ?

100€ per night for 3 people is a really great deal for a hotel, but I'd rather look for an apartment the next time. I guess you won't find anything this short-termed, but you will easily find a nice apartment for the same price in vienna and you have the big plus(es) of much more space, your own kitchen, bathroom and TV, most apartments are generally in much better shape than the cheapes ho(s)tels etc.

I usually play 1-2 /2-5 nl and 3-6 /5-10 limit.
Someone mentioned Poker World, so will see both locations I guess.
What I was wondering: is that hotel in a safe area?

I dont know where you come from, but imo there is no such thing as a real "unsafe" area in vienna.
There may be areas that are more shabby, but there are no real "no go zones".
Maybe well meet at the tables, theres a chance i will go to vienna for a short visit to the ccc next wednesday.

Concord is larger and a better atmosphere than pokerworld.
But as u said visit both of them.
Dont be surprised to play against some real donks!

I´m going to Vienna in May (5.-11.).

Visited both the CCC and the Pokerworld before. Don´t expect much cash game tables.
When i was there last time there was only one or two NL tables going (mostly 1/2) and maybe 3-4 Limit 3/6 tables at the CCC.

Pokerworld had more 7Stud and Omaha games going and only one or two Holdem tables with 4/8 or 5/10 i think.

However there are a lot of people playing the tournaments in the evenings. I recommend also playing these if you like tourneys.
I found the structure was better in Pokerworld tournaments, but maybe that changed.

as said above - there is no "unsafe" arena in Vienna.
I would go to the CCC and be happy with the donks there - I don't like Pokerworld for many reasons.

Kannste die Gründe mal angeben? Mir gefällt das CCC auch viel besser von der Atmosphäre her.

in der Pokerworld spielen ca 9 Asiaten am Tisch und quatschen die ganz Zeit in Mandarin, welches Blatt sie haben - im CCC ist Tischsprache deutsch oder english - ausserdem gibts Security im CCC in der Pokerworld meines Wissens nach nicht...

Just came back from a week in Wien . I really enjoyed this poker room, very good staff, fast dealers (only saw 2 missdeals the whole time). The players were weak (there were 3-4 regulars who where playing good , u just had to avoid them but after 2-3 days playing there they respected my game too and didn't tangle in pots a lot ). Started the first day with a big beat, I have A9 in CO I raise it to 8 button calls big blind calls flop comes A97 BB bets 40 I move all in for 150e button who was a big donk calls BB shows AQ and throws it in the muck. Turn comes 8 river 5 button shows proudly 76. Cahhh.

Another hand who won me my biggest pot there I have 34 in mp with everyone limping in I call BB (who in the last hour hit 3 sets and on boards with straight draws and flush draws was called in all 3 pots by multiple opponents on relatively small bets all the way to the river only to find his set held up each and every time) raised to 12 call in multiple spots I call too. Flop comes 8 3 4 two spades BB bets 20 I make it 60 everyone folds he calls , turn comes 4 I bet 160 he calls river comes 9 completing a runner runner flush hearts he goes all in for 500e I call he shows 55 for 2 pairs , get innn 1100e pot [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

Another tough hand: I have 34 hearts in CO everyone limps so do I, button (someone I know) makes it 10 . We see a flop of 2 5 8 rainbow. UTG bets 12 I call so does the button plus the blinds. Turn comes the 6 completing my str8, I bet 100 button makes it 400e everyone folds to me. I make a tough laydown there knowing he's not messing around and he shows me 7 9, pff bleah.

Another hand where reads came in handy: I raise to 12 in CO with JJ , button who was a loose pasive player calls as did every time , BB an old asian who was pretty tight made a reraise to 40e playing a 70e stack very confident ( I knew he had a big hand) then I looked to the fellow to my left who was visible stressed , veins on his neck very pulsing etc, so i then knew he had a monster too so decided my JJ was no good even for set value since they were playing low stacks. Flop comes all low they get it all in, BB shows AA button shows KK , a K comes in turn ...

I've played 3 tournaments there too , took 8th place in the shorthanded event (40e buy in, 400e for 8th). The m8 I went with made two consecutive heads ups in a 24e limit event and a 40e rebuy for 700e and 2700e ) The 2700 win came in the same day he lost a 900e pot after geting it all in preflop with a donkie with him holding AA against this guy's pocket 99s only to spike a 9 in the flop (the guy said he put him on AK so he had to call [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img] ).

Anyway, I really liked it there and plan on going back there soon, this time to play a whole month there. Played like 900-1000 hands total I guess, for 1500e profit on the cash tables.

Concord the whole time, didn't need to go to PokerWorld (heard some stories about the cash games, with asians playing as teams, so decided not to go there).
Plan on going back this weekend for a month or so, I guess we'll meet at the tables Mikka [img]/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img]

is it open again? Last time i was at the ccc someone told me the Sauna Club was closed and the owner arrested [img]/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]

Was ist das max. Buy-In für NL 1/2 und NL 2/5 (CCC und Pokerworld)?
Bekommt man schnell einen Platz oder gibt es lange Wartelisten?
Wieviele Tische laufen auf den Limits?
Wie hoch ist das Rake?

For the 1/2 nl its 50 min max 200. Never saw a 2-5 nl game going, only 2-5 plo.

In weekends around 5-7 tables of 1-2 , rest of the week 4.

But there are a lot of guys wearing Yankees caps in Vienna. I bet most of them don't know that doesn't stand for New York but for the New York Yankees. And if they knew they don't know anything about baseball.
