Denver/Boulder 2+2 Home Game
I've been PM'ing some known Denver 2+2ers and it seems there is a reasonable amount of interest in a home game. Post here if you are interested and lets set this thing up!

Re: Denver/Boulder 2+2 Home Game
Ya, if it comes about, hit me up with deets. I'm interested. A Friday night would probably be best, though a Saturday could work.
|
Re: Denver/Boulder 2+2 Home Game
I'm unemployed and busto (cuz i rule at life), but as soon as that changes, I'm in.
|
Re: Denver/Boulder 2+2 Home Game
Boulder's kind of a PITA for me and it's going to be tough for me to do any pokering any time in the near future (months probably). In general, I'd like to get a game going, apart from obvious game selection problems.
Oh, and I know my PM box is full. You can PM me at the user name "Patrick's PM" until I feel like emptying it (potentially never). |
Re: Denver/Boulder 2+2 Home Game
I'd definitely be interested in this, for as long as I'll be living in the Denver area (a few more months probably).

Re: Denver/Boulder 2+2 Home Game
Hey guys, well I live in boulder but wouldn't have a problem if someone wanted to host this in Denver. I only have a 1br apartment anyways. I was thinking a smallish buyin dealers choice game would be alot of fun.
|
Re: Denver/Boulder 2+2 Home Game
I like that type of game, and have played it in Denver. Typically a PL or NL, but with low blinds, like .25/.50 (except for ante type games), even had some 2-7 triple draw called. Fun stuff.
|
Re: Denver/Boulder 2+2 Home Game
i love this type of game too. .25/.50 NL usually works great, maybe using 1/2 or 2/4 for the stud based games, cuz no limit stud doesn't work too good.
|
Re: Denver/Boulder 2+2 Home Game
I will host or bring a table, etc to someone who wants to host. I live in Southeast Aurora. I was actually thinking about running something in the next few weeks. I would prefer Fri or Sat.
|
Re: Denver/Boulder 2+2 Home Game
Grasshopp3r, barring someone else volunteering to host in a more centralized location it sounds good to me. Shall we set a date?
|
Re: Denver/Boulder 2+2 Home Game
I and a friend are interested.
I live north though and SE Aurora would suck! |
Re: Denver/Boulder 2+2 Home Game
I play in a game in Thornton. I can't drink at it due to the drive home. I feel your pain, but unless you want to host, you are not much help. The farthest that shows up will get a prize. How does that sound?
|
Re: Denver/Boulder 2+2 Home Game
How North? Longmont's a haul ;-)
But I'm there. I'm also gonna be at Central Station a lot this weekend, I think. Wifey's on the east coast, and Mondo's feeling playtime. |
Re: Denver/Boulder 2+2 Home Game
I'm north of Longmont by 20 minutes.
We can travel, though.. Thornton area would be ideal as its centralized but if its more south its more south. I may be able to host if I don't sell my house this week but it'll not work probably as I am nearly to Loveland. |
Re: Denver/Boulder 2+2 Home Game
ill b back from college in south carolina mid may and i would conisder goin depending on location. i live in co springs but w/e works as far as location idc too much
|
Re: Denver/Boulder 2+2 Home Game
Im interested
|
Re: Denver/Boulder 2+2 Home Game
I'm interested, especially if the low-stakes dealer choice holds up. As I told nubs via PM before seeing this thread, I've got a lot of crap to do for school, but hopefully I can work this into my schedule. Saturday would be better than Friday, but either should work for me.
Since I'm not offering to host, Aurora works for me |
Re: Denver/Boulder 2+2 Home Game
This Saturday night would work great for me and Friday is impossible, don't know my schedule for the following weeks.

Re: Denver/Boulder 2+2 Home Game
Ok. How does May 5 sound? PM me with your contact info and I will make a list. Dealers choice is great, so long as we don't play wacky stuff. I would hold a barbeque before and clean out my freezer (deer, etc.)

Re: Denver/Boulder 2+2 Home Game
In, but i was really hoping to play some double flop omaha
|
Re: Denver/Boulder 2+2 Home Game
PM sent -- I could potentially bring a friend, too (also a non 2+2er), but I'd kinda like to keep this 2+2...though I'm not sure where we'd find the fish, in that case. Heh.
|
Re: Denver/Boulder 2+2 Home Game
I'm sure with the small stakes and probable drinks we all will be playing pretty fishy I have yet to hear of a 2+2 game that turns out to be a nitfest

Re: Denver/Boulder 2+2 Home Game
May 5th seems to work for me right now. Looking forward to it. PM sent.

But keep the wild cards out in the wilderness where they belong. |
Re: Denver/Boulder 2+2 Home Game
i would be interested. im in downtown denver. im very new to the city. may 5th is fine for me as is every other day of the year lol
|
Re: Denver/Boulder 2+2 Home Game
By my count, there are 8 that have committed and two or three "friends". I have a table for 8. If we get more, we will figure it out.
|
Re: Denver/Boulder 2+2 Home Game
Well, my friend isn't a 2+2er, so he can go find his own game. LOL
Oh yeah, I got my first "*" this week. A$$holes complaining about VT rememberances. Badge of honor, I guess. BTW, I'll be rocking Colorado Central Station this evening, just look for the dude in the grey VT golf shirt. (The one raking in the chips, not the one in the grey VT golf shirt dunkenly donking off his stack, that would be his doppleganger.) |
Re: Denver/Boulder 2+2 Home Game
I will save the gas money and simply burn some $20's in my fireplace. Good luck drawing.

Re: Denver/Boulder 2+2 Home Game
I'd be interested in a game like this too. I live in Westminster, but go to school in Boulder. Had a very profitable game, but it appears as though everyone I played with has become jobless and unable to play. Still, I'd be interested in trying a new home game, and to anyone who is interested I know a very fishy .25/.50 (sometimes .5/1)NLHE and some NLO game if anyone wants a Sunday (sometimes Tues, Wed) game in Westminster.

Re: Denver/Boulder 2+2 Home Game
i'm interested in playing, but you guys do realize that may 5th is both the kentucky derby AND the mayweather/de la hoya fight?
maybe wherever we do this we can all pitch in to get the fight on pay per view? |

Re: Denver/Boulder 2+2 Home Game
Hey, instead of starting a new thread:
I'm moving to Mancos in about a week. Ive got a summer job there building a home. Can anyone give me some information on things to do while im out there? How far outside Denver am I? Ive never driven in the mountains, whats it like? Is there live poker? Ill have weekends off, and probably a week or two sporadically during the summer, so Id like to spend my time doing some outdoors type stuff. Fishing, hiking, camping, whatever. Im sure there are plenty of opportunities for that, but perhaps you guys have some good ideas on where to go. Anyways, any help would be great. Thanks. Sorry to derail your thread, by the way. If you guys would rather pm me, thats fine. |
Re: Denver/Boulder 2+2 Home Game
Would anyone be interested in giving me like $100 if i shipped them stars money?

Hey, instead of starting a new thread: I'm moving to Mancos in about a week. Ive got a summer job there building a home. Can anyone give me some information on things to do while im out there? How far outside Denver am I? [/ QUOTE ] Mancos is outside Durango in the southeast portion of the state, and Denver is a little north of center... it looks like you're ~350 miles from Denver (i.e. not close). As far as things to do: hiking / biking / fishing / outdoorsy stuff is probably the norm... I've never been down to that part of the state, but you're really close to Mesa Verde National Park / 4 corners. [ QUOTE ] Ive never driven in the mountains, whats it like? [/ QUOTE ] That's a tough question to answer - it varies. There are flat roads in the vallies, regular sized hills near some of the mountains, and 8% grades that go for miles and miles. If you have a manual transmission, for the steep / long grades go both uphill and downhill in a gear that is one gear lower than what you usually drive in (uphill, it'll help you keep your speed up / downhill, it'll help prevent you picking up speed). If you have an auto, turn off Overdrive on the big grades (both up and down). [ QUOTE ] Is there live poker? [/ QUOTE ] I believe there are only two casino towns in CO (well, 3... but 2 are less than a mile apart). Central City / Blackhawk are both west of Denver, and there's a town outside Colorado Springs as well (Cripple Creek, maybe?). 300+ miles from you, though. |
Re: Denver/Boulder 2+2 Home Game
Thanks. I'm going to be pretty out of my element there, but I figure ill be able to adjust.
|
Re: Denver/Boulder 2+2 Home Game
Castle Rock here...interested if it happens
better be low/moderate stakes though, I'm not driving to play above my BR with a bunch of 2p2ers...priority should be on fun factor |

Thanks. I'm going to be pretty out of my element there, but I figure ill be able to adjust. [/ QUOTE ] What do you think you'll need to adjust to? The driving? Most of the people living in this state are really laid back and easy to get along with, so you'll probably be made to feel right at home within a day or two. Aside: on re-reading my previous post, I realized why "vallies" looks so weird... I guess it's supposed to be "valleys" |
Re: Denver/Boulder 2+2 Home Game
I live in a big city. The person im staying w/ (building his house) doesnt have internet access or a tv. Not that this bothers me, I love to read and play guitar, so I figure ill be fine. I only have one friend that lives out there, and he's in colorado springs, whioh is quite a drive I guess. I woudlnt say that I'm nervous, I just realize that its a big change.
