So the lady cutting my hair f\'d it up....
 

So I go into my local "Great Clips" and get my hair cut as usual and there is a different lady there and she is the only one there at the moment.

Anyway, I step up and she asks my phone number(standard) and pulls up my account there. She says 5 on top and one on the sides? I say yes. Because that’s what it has always said since I moved here.

So we go over to get started she is nice and talks with me and she gets the clippers ready. She puts on the 5 and goes to start cutting and she takes a nice chunk of my bangs off on the left side. I stand up and say WTF are you doing. I didn’t say cut my bangs (they are not long btw, just enough to lay over) and she has the nerve to say "you didn’t tell me that". I look at her is total amazement and say well how the hell did they get there? I get my hair like this all the time and then I said I hope you realize I am not paying for this hair cut. She says ok and she did an ok job on covering it up but I am still pissed. She never apologized or anything for it.

So OOT how was my play and what, if anything should I do next?

PS: I am not posting pics of my hair. I’m still too pissed and embarrassed.

I said I let the bangs lay over the top and yes when I go out I spike them to "look cool". I stood up because I didnt want her to do anymore damage and I was in total shock that she did that.

yeah i wouldn't have been happy but you come here and whine like you can do something about it, as if there is a plan for the "next step" or something???

it IS just hair and it WILL grow back in a couple weeks, whats the big deal?

i had a terrible haircut in college one time, i mean horrendous...blotchy, uneven, chunks missing. maybe the lady had Parkinson's? can't remember. anyway, when i got back, my roomates and others (including girls that were over) were laughing and i was laughing so we decided to have some fun with it and we ended up shaving my head into a mohawk...i kept it like that for a day until the i shaved it. point being is don't take yourself so seriously, laugh about these things, there are bigger problems to worry about i am sure and if there isn't there will be.

first mistake was going to Great Clips. If you dont want to pay an arm and a leg to go to a salon at least go to a barber.

Also, all this talk of ones, fives, etc. makes my head spin. What happened to short on the sides and little bit longer one the top? From experience it seems that the stylists who are intent on just using numbers can't do much but use an electric razor.

They take a #1 on the sides and fade it up into a number 5 on top where they leave it just a tad longer in the very front for the bangs.

My hair is pretty much a half inch everywhere and a little more on top than at the sides and very back. So this guy has very short sides and veyr long hair at the front and top?

He has a 1 on the sides, very short hair. he has a 5 on the top and sides near the top, so semi-short hair. In the front part of his head, the part over your forehead, the bangs, he has longer hair than the 5 areas for spiking. I don't know him in real life, and don't really care to, but this is the picture I got from his posts.

meh that sucks, but if its only going to take 2-3 weeks to grow back, i guess its not that big a deal. When i first read "bangs" i assumed there were significantly longer then your regular hair (take a few months to grow back).. in which case i would have been pissed.
