Full Tilt Poker Account - Fraud Activity Investigation

As many of you know my screen name on Full Tilt Poker is NMDynasty. My account is currently undergoing a Fraud investigation for unauthorized activity.

I do not want to get into the specifics of the case currently as I will let the Full Tilt Fraud team investigate the matter.

Essentially what happened was my computer was stolen and my account was logged into. Approximately $70,000-$80,000 was dumped onto the tables.

I have recently taken shots at some of the bigger games so this will make the investigation slightly more complex, however it should be EXTREMELY apparent that I was not playing on the account during the time of the fradulent activity.

I was able to get the HHs of the hands played and it is EXTEMELY obvious it was not me playing. There are even several hands of 100/200 PLO in which the person was going all in preflop with garbage hands for $4,000 stacks at a time. Completely inconsistent with my normal account activity considering I never play PLO.

Full Tilt has been professional to this point dealing with this case. Hopefully things get resolved and justice is served.

I plan to update this thread as I receive information. I have choosen to make this public as there are many of you with $10,000s-$100,000s in your Full Tilt accounts. I want to make sure everyone is as protected as possible.

Yes and I am unable to go to sleep. I am not sure when I will be able to sleep. I have emailed Full Tilt a few times now and have received some responses. They seem to be working on the matter but I constantly refresh my email.

This sucks dude. I really do feel bad for you and i hope Full Tilt is able to locate you're funds and get your money back to you. But if your funds cashed out, i hope you don't expect FT to take a loss here. This clearly is your fault and if the money is gone it's gone.

This may be a problem for you. I'm sure it's apparent that you weren't playing normally but how is FT to know that you aren't doing this as part of an elaborate scam? Or that you weren't just really drunk? I'm not throwing accusations here but what i am saying is how can FT be 100% sure?

Anyway, i really do hope this all works itself out. It's probably a good thing you posted this because hopefully it will inspire some people to protect themselves.

out of curiosity was it a desktop or laptop?

did you have pw saved option checked?

best of luck, from what I've seen of FTP investigation team they seem rational enough and should resolve your matter in a good fashion.

Anyone called bullsh1t yet? How do they know you didn't dump the money to a friend?

If the theft happened, I think Ivey did it. Payback for your short-stacking him...

this sucks, condolences... however it would be interesting to know if the felon is caught by law enforcement whether you have the right to pursue a claim for the dumped funds? Im guessing that if its a joyrider case you arent going to get anything back via FTP?

One weird part of your story is that if your computer was stolen, I'd expect you to change your Full Tilt password from another computer immediately.

Also, the posts in BBV are really messed up.

Edit-- Another thing that doesn't make sense is that the guy playing on your account took shortstacking seriously. Each time he doubled up, he left immediately. WTF? I watched the tables while I wrote a paper last night. If he was just "joyriding," wouldn't he wanna stay for a while with more money on the table?

Is saving your pw really that big of a deal? Doesnt that protect you against the event that someone ever installs a keystroke logger on your comp?

Anyone else just logon to FTP and breathe a sigh of relief after they saw their $$$ still there?

Also I'm glad I haven't played the last couple days, receiving fraudulent funds can be trouble too, even if you had no idea.

If the guy who stole your computer just literally donked off the money to randoms, I don't think there's a huge chance of getting it back. The cases where money gets returned seem to be where it's dumped to a specific account or a couple specific accounts. I think FTP would be in a very tough spot to just take money back from people who weren't doing wrong at the tables.

This seriously sucks, I wish some more security features would be implemented.

This situation doe seriously suck, and I do feel for the OP. I sincerely hope you get the money back. With that said, I'm not sure what FT is supposed to implement, regarding more security features?

I mean, the OP had his computer stolen, and his password saved/remembered on his computer. How can FT possibly prevent this? To suggest that they need tighter security for events such as these is absurd. Now if the OP's account had been hacked into, I would agree with you, tighter security would be needed. But in this case, I don't think FT can really implement any further measures.

As far as the keystroker reference, my advice to y'all is the following:

1. Don't surf porn (if you really feel compelled, then at least do a virus scan afterwards)

2. Keep your anti-virus software up to date, and scan your computer frequently.

3. keep your anti-spyware software up to date, and scan your computer frequently.

4. Install a firewall if you don't currently have one.

5. Change your password frequently! ( I change mine weekly) and DO NOT keep it remembered or save it to your computer!

GL all, and stay safe!

Full Tilt security is a joke. PokerStars VS Full Tilt, compare the Forgot Password screen of both clients...and it goes way beyond that.

Re: Full Tilt Poker Account - Fraud Activity Investigation

Just dont log off of FTP. If you do most or all of your playing from the same computer there is no reason to. Full Tilt doesnt let you sign in from another computer if you are already signed in. This wont help OP as his comp was stolen but as far as having your accout compromised it keeps people out and if a hacker has tried to get in once or a few times and cant because you are logged in then he might just move on. Hope all works out and you get your $ back. Anyone with tech knowledge that has ideas to help FTP should post them and email them to FTP.

So was your account hacked or not? You were shortstacking and playing the 200/400 game pretty well last night, and then made a post about it in BBV. Further down in the thread though you say that it wasnt you playing and that a friend was borrowing your account??

Not sure what you mean by "fake."

This is 100% illegal fraudulent activity and what occured goes completely against the Terms and Conditions on the Full Tilt Website.

What a JACKASS comment!!

Good Luck getting your $$$ back buddy,as there seems to be a troubling trend here with accounts being hacked/scammed/illegal activity, etc.
I really dont play O/Lbut the safety of some serious $$$$ seems to be a big issue on all fronts since the October gaming law was enacted!!

lol anyone who reads this thread please look at his posts in BBV he made last night. He talks about how he lost so much to bad beats in the big game shortstacking he would have to grind it out at low stakes

then the story changes to: friend did this on my account trying to win money he owed me

then it changes to: my laptop was stolen

LOL and wtf is this not wanting to post details publicly? GOT SOMETHING TO HIDE?

Against what terms and conditions? Sites unfortunately assume no liability if your account is hacked, logged onto by friends, etc.

Full Tilt can't ask everyone for ID when they log on........

I think it's weird to post this here without more details.. if you read both threads, this one and the one here:

http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showfl...rue#Post9932166

there are just a ton of unanswered questions. I'm not saying you're lying, I just don't get why you post this if you're not going to give details? Just strictly as a warning to make that in the 12 hours after you play a losing session of 200-400 HU against Ivey you should lock up your computer somewhere in case someone else steals it and goes on tilt on your account? I just don't see the point of this thread if you can't explain the details.

Re: Full Tilt Poker Account - Fraud Activity Investigation

Isn't it pretty much impossible to get the money back? It's not like 1 person dumping to another where its easy to just remove the money from the 2nd account back to the 1st. The money went to several people in an ordinary game with no dumping involved. It's not like they can just remove the $$ from innocent people's accounts.

so let me get this straight.
someone hacks into you FTP account and proceeds to dump chips and decides to simultaneously chronicle the episode on 2p2?
