Have you people heard Lakisha sing? I mean to say, are you people deaf?? Lakisha has maybe the best voice in the competition and is miles better than everyone else except Melinda, who she may be better than. I know she's heavy and people don't vote for large women but she will go far. She had a couple good, not great performances but she will, despite how stupid America is, do well. I will be riding her all the way to the finish line.....Although I would rather be riding Sanjaya's sister, but I digress. BTW I also have Sanjaya at like 33-1 or more. If he wins I will cash, but they should cancel Idol immediately!

Thanks Granny! At least someone doesn't think I'm nuts. I am telling you all if I could manage Lakisha she would sail into the finals. The judges have made comments to her about her over singing and so on. If I were her manager I would pick the right songs for and tell her to belt them out. Her voice is flawless and she can kick ALL their asses. Even that phony Melinda "I don't believe you love me" Doolittle. Although I am tired of Melinda's "surpised act" I still really like her.

big brother starts 1-2 months after idol, easier money than idol, but sportsbooks hate offering it 1) because there is no interest and 2) things can completely flip in that game at any moment.

It would be a long offseason, so emailing these sites come june would be something to consider.

Bodog usually has lines on the reality shows (Survivor, Rock Star, Dancing w the stars, Project Runway, etc.). These are often ridiculously easy money (esp. the talent-based shows - shows like Survivor and Big Brother are harder to predict and I usually avoid wagering on them).

Big brother is definately unpredictable, but how the lines will be set are not. They always set the odds based on the popularity of the contestants not their position in the game. Which makes perfect sense.

BB6 before it starts Janelle is a huge dog because america doesnt like her based on her picture, then half way through the season she is a favorite to win along with kaysar.

BB7 Boogie was a long shot through out the show because america hated him, but was in great shape to win from start to finish.

This doesnt belong in a lakisha thread in apr, but something to discuss in the offseason.

I've been wondering about this for a while now, and I think this would be perfectly appropriate. I also think it would encourage more discussion about +EV wagering on the other reality shows out there, to the extent offered. Great idea, everybody wins.

the original plan was for the forum to be open only during the season. however, i think we have had enough traffic where i can propose to mat that it stand as a reality tv forum. i'll let you guys know how it goes.

Now wait a minute. I said I took 33-1 on Sanjaya but I never pridicted him to win. I just thought based on his price and the fact that people were keeping him alive, I flushed some money down the toilet. I even said they should shut down the competition if he wins. I think he was the worst Hollywood contestant in Idol history. So to be clear my prediciton is Lakisha to be in the finals. As I keep saying she has one of the two best voices in the competition.

Sanjaya had no chance of winning, but was priced high because of people thinking like you do, same goes for lakisha, sorry.

Sorry but no one is betting on Lakisha. There is no comparison between the two. BTW, I actually could have made a profit on Sanjaya, so in theory, I was right. In reality though I thought he had a week or two left in him so I held him too long.

No I just know a great voice when I hear it and when she belts one out this week Simon, Randy, and the other one will be slobbering all over her and finally she will get back into the spotlight. Mark my words!

Lakisha is the 2nd-best singer this season IMO, but as far as her making the finals I think that ship has sailed. even if she pulled out another "And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going", I think her fan base is just too small at this point.

Not to mention last week was the first week I thought her vocals sounded kinda rough. I am no fan of Jordin (she irritates the hell out of me), but last week Jordin outsang Lakisha.

I pretty much agree with everything you've said. Although even though Lakisha's fan base has diminished I think one
big performance can bring back the fans. No question though this is the worst season of Idol ever.
