Brad Booth at River Rock, BC

Saw Brad Booth last night while we were both at the cage. Seemed like he was cashing out a good win. Was very well mannered and well spoken. But I was just curious how often he plays at River Rock in BC? Anyone else see him up there a lot? I was just curious cuse I thought the guy lived at the Bellagio or something like that cuse he played the cash games all the time.

I believe he has a place in the lower mainland, I've seen him more than a few times playing at the Cascades Casino. He is a super nice guy very funny. he was playing 10/20nl and I went up because I saw him playing 1k/2k on ftp the night before, and I said, " looks like youve got 5 bbs for your game last night" and he stood up and shook my hand and asked my name. and invited me to go have a drink with him. Seemed very friendly.

played some 2/5 at MGM in LV last year with him, he sat down with a hottie little asian number, raised just about every hand. Eventually got all in blind and lost. Invited the whole table to a party at his Bellagio suite, only caveat was that you had to bring a girl with you... Needless to say, I was absent from that one... holla

Met Brad at the Johnny Chan seminar and again at the BC Championships at River Rock. He was very nice and seemed to enjoy talking to everyone who appoached him. One of the nicest people I've met in the game. A friend told me he has a very nice house in Vancouver now.

Ran into Booth a couple years ago at the Bellagio while waiting to get into a 10/20 NL game... he had someone bring a bunch of taco bell food to the high limit room where I was waiting at an empty table and he practically insisted that I eat some. Seemed like a really nice guy.

Then saw him last year during the WSOP playing a drunk guy heads up $20k freezeout... the guy was apparently a "friend" of his, and was pretty drunk at least in the beginning (he stopped drinking and sobered up somewhat over the course of the game) and they both kept badgering and insulting each other about their ability and egos the whole time. It's hard to say, since as I said, they seemed to be at least acquaintences if not friends, but most of the talk didn't seem to be your average friendly verbal sparring, it seemed pretty mean-spirited... but overall he still seems like a nice guy. The match was great entertainment.

As an aside, right after the match, someone came by and offered to flip Booth for $50k or something like that... Booth immediately said ok and pulled out enough Bellagio chips (this was at the Rio) to cover the bet. The guy backed down and said how about $20k... Booth agreed again and then wanted to get the rules straight about who would flip and who would call, etc (this was a literal coinflip) and during the negotiations the guy backed out completely. That was disappointing.

Re: Brad Booth at River Rock, BC

He plays there every once in a while, but when he's in town he mainly plays in 1 of 2 private games in Richmond and Downtown (Riley's game I think?) It's no cap 25/50NL. I think it's the biggest game in the city. There use to be a game out in Port Kells which was about the same stake kind of out towards Cascades, but I'm pretty sure its not running anymore. Also, THANK GOD they changed the max buyin's at the now 2/5 and 5/10 games. Almost worthwhile playing there now.
