It'd be awesome if stack sizes were shown on the show. I hope someone from HSP producing team reads this [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] BUMP guys!

Why?

I'd like to see stack sizes as well, even if only shown once or twice each episode.

Also, please don't do this "completely new roster every 6 hours" deal that was used for Season 3. I'd much rather see the lineup gradually change, and see some players stay for longer than 6 hours. This is what let more storylines develop for seasons 1 and 2.

Stack sizes will only annoy you -- like when Todd Brunson has $125,000 in one hand, and the very next hand (they don't even go to commercial) he has $85,000... you'll be like WHY DIDN'T THEY SHOW THAT HAND oh yeah, it's an hour-long show covering about 4 hours of playing time.

but please don't be like PATRIK ANTONIUS IS THE LEADER, HE'S 70,000 DOLLARS AHEAD OF THE NEXT PERSON as if it's a freezeout.

Also, not reminding us that IT IS REAL DOLLARS and that someone is saying "I RAISE YOU A LUXURY AUTOMOBILE" is appreciated

also would like to see fewer donks and people that we don't care about and more of PA, IVey, Booth, ABA etc, the donks are ok, but don't have an entire table of them for like 80 percent of the season

More tough high stakes online/live players, less unknown donks. No more donk tables, try to balance them a bit better. Say 1/2 top notch players, 1/4 decent players, 1/4 donks. I know they won't replace Kaplan, but at least get rid of Benza, move Kaplan to his job, and have the analysis done by a technically solid nl holdem player.

Kaplan and Benza do great work for the crowd they're trying to attract to the show. If anyone is actually sick of the jokes they do, you're getting leveled hard.

Agreed with better table distribution and even more tabletalk would be nice.

Now that this season is over, I know how much I'm going to miss HSP ever Monday night. Some of the people here remind of high school, in order to be cool you have to not like things. The show is not perfect, but we all love it. I remember when this table was announced, people were saying it was too tough and unfair. I could watch another 20 hours of this table.

No-brainer idea: High Stakes Poker: Pot Limit Omaha
If GSN doesn't do it, someone else will eventually.


Fill the table with Negreanu, Greenstein, Ivey, Brunson, Antonius, Harman, Benyamine and Brian Townsend. It will get ratings!

Just make the show 2 hours and film 4 days (8 hours a day). Get a table to play for 2 days each. Hopefully the players would go for that.

if we were looking at stats of 600,000 hands this table played over the course of several years, that might matter. but it's just a few hours of an all-star team going crazy chaotic gamble omg sexy. and this table made for the best actual poker.

actually i'd still be interested in just seeing the stats of 600k hands this table played. almost anything concerning such a masturbation-worthy table would be awesome.

I strongly disagree - it annoys me when I don't know (unless it is declared verbally) whether a player is betting into a guy with 35k behind or 350k behind. This makes a huge difference IMO. This is vital info for making/evaluating poker decisions.

Aside - also when someone with 1M pushes all in over a guy with 20k behind in a pot that has 30k in it - please don't tell me he took down a pot for 1M + 30k .

1) show all the hole cards preflop, using onscreen graphics like PokerDome or Fox Sports's live broadcasts.

2) Show profit/loss. British and Australian high stakes televised cash games did, so don't say it can't be done.

3) Yeah, stack sizes would be good too. At least occasionally, or where they are relevant to a hand. William Hill II, in Europe, showed them during hands.

I actually enjoyed the donks, why get rid of them?

Ramdin and Gold, mixed with some good players makes the game alot more enjoyable. Good personalities and people that like to really gambool it up make the show more exciting.

I wouldn't mind the show being 2 hours a week, that I would certainly go for.

1. Make every show 2 hours (keep the number of shows the same).

2. Keep the tables the same for longer periods unless someone busts out or wants to leave. This last table was great but we really needed to see it for 5 weeks or so to get the best entertainment value.

3. Ask the players to buy in for more than 100k.

4. Increase the blinds to $500/$1000

5. Show the cards that the players are folding. Don't use the FSN style graphics where every hand is on the screen. Ugh! Just flash us their cards as they are folding.

6. I can't remember if they do this already but if they don't then add pot size to the graphics.

7. Focus more on putting together entertaining tables and don't over do the excellent but silent players like Daniel Allai (sp?). Sure he's good but he has no entertainment value. Putting him on a table with 2 or 3 other like him is deadly for TV.

8. Disallow running it twice or taking money back. I know that this is normal in high stakes but this game is meant for TV entertainment. They got rid of the props because they were interfering with the game. Running a huge pot twice and getting a draw is awful for those watching.

playing w/ 100BB is weak. I doubt many ppl wanna buy in with more than 100k. Structure is fine as is IMO

ps. if they change one thing it should be keeping the same lineup longer so the dynamics have a chance to develop and evolve.

No it's not. Most of us want to see good poker, not merely huge pots and swings. Besides, the shared relief after a chop contains its own drama, if not as much excitement. And the times when a 22% underdog ends up scooping (hasn't happened on the show yet, but it does happen) are extra thrilling and brutal. Plus, it's interesting to see which players like to run it multiple times and which don't.

Highly doubtful. There's no real reason to. They do the commentary in post production, and just the shuffling and dealing between hands adds too much dead time.

Why did ESPN stop showing more of the other events, raitings are terrible. Highstakes PLO would not!!! get near the same raitings as showing lower stakes NL action. The common person doesn't understand PLO, doesn't get the basic strategy or hand values.

Bumping up the stakes is an interesting Idea. With so many people buying in short, why not bump stakes and make it a little more aggresive.

Tight players should not be invited back, players like Laak and Antonio make the show. DN is needed.

When we had to endure the table of Jesus, Shak, Trincher and the rest of the nits. I welcomed DN back to the table with open arms. You need some people to gambool it up a litte get the game loose.

Jerry Buss would be a great guy to have. Fred Charmanara as well. Amatures who are true amatures. I really dislike that they call guys like Trincher, Shak amatures. I want true millionaires who play cards sometimes. I would love to see Jay-Z or Irv Gotti. Or other well known Celebs who enjoy the game.

Those guys could loose 100K and never know it was gone. Plus the pro's would love to play at thier table.

Stack sizes are not neccesary, but maybe a end of episode count, like brad is down 50K for this episode will this effect his play next week??? you know mention it like LATB.

I Mention Laak and Antonio, because they play good, loose enough to be interesting but play solid enough to make you think. More Antonio than Laak, but I thought they both played good.

I don't know, while it would be great for the addicted poker fan, it would be a disaster for the casual fan.
"He has 4 hole cards??? WTF is going on??"
"He has the ace of clubs for the nut flush!!! Why is his winning % at 0?"

This followed by complaints to GSN that teh viewing public wants more, you guessed it, no limit holdem.
