What is everyones thoughts on CakePoker?

I deposited there about 2 weeks ago. Had heard great things up to this point. Love the play at the low tables, but jesus christ the last few days have been absolute hell.

Every time i try to get on the tables take forever to load, and the game freezes for litterally 1-2 mins after every single pot. Its unplayabled ATM.

Furthermore, i hear more and more reports (IE just was told the same thing by 3 people in the SNG im trying to finish at 2min/hand) that cashouts have been being reversed (2 guys said they requested a cashout in the last few weeks and had it put back into their accounts after a week or so with no notice, or just taking an ungodly amount of time.

What are peoples experiences at Cake? I want to continue playing here because i like it alot but if these server problems and potential cashout problems persists its not gonna work.

Sorry if their is a cake thread or something, i searched and found nothing

Annnnnnnnnnndddddddddd after like 2 hours the SNG is not frozen with 2 players left.

Well, I waited over a month and a half and my check that never got processed so I reversed it when I got epass set up and for some reason the cashout got reversed on their end. I'm trying to figure out why now.

Keep in mind that many of the people complaining are from Sportsbook.com as Cake seems to be slowly working out their issues. The bugs and server problems happen all the time too and don't get any better.

Do you feel like there is any reason to worry about getting your money off? As in ever, not just "It'll take along time". I can deal with a wait, i cant deal with a never.

Ive had so many problems setting up my epass account i would rather not ever try again

I just opened an account and had planned to fund it tomorrow using epassporte. Are there major problems getting funds on and off using epassporte? Am I better advised to wait?

It makes me want to stab young orphans, but I admit I have anger management issues.

Some nights the crashes (for lack of a better word) just make playing too hard, and the games get all messed up because people get pissed and leave. And if they're working they're sitting everyone out every few minutes or making me time out or something. OR TELLING ME $24 IS A [censored] INVALID BUYIN AMOUNT DESPITE THE FACT ITS 600MAX AND I HAVE $570 ON THE TABLE. GOOD JOB GUYS.

Ive heard the same thing about cashouts but theyve been juggling with tenative payment processors for a while so it doesnt surprise me.

Re: What is everyones thoughts on CakePoker?

I finally got an epasporte account set up and the cash out took just about 24 hours. I believe if you are using epassporte and have it set up properly, the cash outs are going much better. YMMV

Cake was the new Pacific Poker. Almost more trouble than it is worth but the games are soft.

If I have epassporte setup but never deposite into Cake can I still withdraw via Epass?

The software is horrible, but I'm overlooking that because of the fishies and pot sizes. The bonuses(+rakeback) are easy to earn. Plus that Gold Card earning may be a great promotion, only time will tell. This site may have a great future. I like it alot.

The software is indeed horrible.

The tournaments are the easiest by far of any site I play.

I really am not even sure what is more funny......Cakes half assed poker site or the fact that EvanJC thinks that clown has ANY chance at the 07 NL cy!!! Might have to sleep on this 1!!!

Re: What is everyones thoughts on CakePoker?

Yeah sure, i'll give you my thoughts.

Software is the worst of any site and it's not even close. Every 3mins or so you'll get an error message that pops up that you have to click about 200 times or so before it finally goes away, and until you get it to go away none of your tables are clickable so if you're in a hand and dont click fast enough you lose the pot. Also, i've had 2 instances where my money/player got stuck at a table. My player wouldn't get up and the money wouldnt go to my cashier. I closed out of the software and went to sleep to wake up the next morning and as soon as I open the software the table pops up and the money is still there.

As far as cashouts? Yeah sure. I cashed out about 2 months ago and haven't gotten anything. Not only that but the games are getting tougher day by day because of ignorant threads like this and it's becoming not worth it to playt here with the hassle.

And whichever one of you is ZackMorris, he's taking a beating right now.

...after an absolutely dreadful night of dealing with the cake software tonight, I've decided to never deposit there again until it gets fixed.

.....and the $5 sit n go's have disappeared...... again.

I've had enough.

Re: What is everyones thoughts on CakePoker?

I too waited 2 months for a cashout that never got processed. I sent them a long list of alternatives including Western Union, Moneygram, bank wires, transfers on other sites, checks in different currencies and they refused. They got ePassporte a few weeks back and told me that was the only way I could cash out. I have tried three times to cashout that way and all have reversed without any explanation, just a form email. ePass says my account is open and active.

Outside of going to PRR, Casinomeister and trying to find an affiliate to buy my balance I am out of ideas on how to get this money out of there. There is no excuse in the world for 2+ month cashouts still not being processed and telling players excuses about how slow the check processor is before admitting there wasn't one. They even made me send in docs to receive a check they knew damn well they were never sending.

Cake Poker, I've supported you and generated over 10k in rake at your site. You have had 2+ months to pay me and have been given endless alternatives. Your competitors aren't having these problems, only you and your skin Sportsbook.com. What are you doing to fix these problems?

I can't understand how a 4k MGR player on such a small site can't get something simple like a small Western Union just to show good faith on your side during this ridiculous delay. I even offered to split the fees even though the interest off my balance should easily cover it.

I wonder why it has been almost a month since we saw a Cake rep post here when they used to be so active.

Re: What is everyones thoughts on CakePoker?

Cake's a terrible site full of bugs and delays. I tried it for a while, but after a huge lag spike hit me on the river card in a 200bb AI pot (I had the winning hand), and 100bb was returned to both myself at the villain, I'm done with it. Maybe if they fix all these bugs it'll be almost standable.

I don't know, I've had another site not have any problems cashing me out that way. Cake reverses it about 36 hours after I request it and sends me an email saying there was an error trying to cash me out. It is the same vague form email each time. I give them the right username and the emails and all other info matches. When I email Cake they only tell me to try again, they do not give me any suggestions on how to fix the problem.

I heard there was recently a processor issue with one of the banks handling epass accounts - it was taken care of but some people got reversed cashouts in the meantime. You're probably one of 'em.

PM me about it, maybe I can get some contact info.

Re: What is everyones thoughts on CakePoker?

Cake is awful. Their software consistently pauses, sometimes it skips your blind, images randomly don't show up, you can't reload chips without it taking 30 seconds and causing you to timeout on all tables. It is not as soft as everyone is saying it is either. Plus you have the cashout issues. I'm done with Cake and I'd advise everyone else to probably stay away from it too, at least until all these frustrating bugs are fixed.

Skleice 04-10-2007 11:17 AM

Re: What is everyones thoughts on CakePoker?

I've also had all of these problems. The freezes are very frustrating when you flop top set and are in a big pot, only to have your hand folded and your chips shipped to some moron calling you with middle pair. Also, getting on to a table can suck, as the %, number of players, etc are never accurate. I've seen my own name listed at a table that I wasn't even playing at and can find 12 players listed at a 6 max table (not wait list). But, the games are so easy to beat it's sad. A lot of people moaning about bad luck and giving their chips away. The play is very loose passive. You can sit for a 1/2 hour if you want and play one hand....and they'll still pay you off. It is still a very frustrating experience though. I'll probably play to clear my bonus and then be done with Cake.

WoodPaneling 04-10-2007 11:19 AM

Re: What is everyones thoughts on CakePoker?

I love everything about Cake except the software. Bonus good, rakeback good, games soft, etc. I'm just taking a break until they get their software issues straightened out, I will return when games aren't horribly slow.

I once played a MTT on Cake and in the first 3 levels I had posted blinds once. Yeah, it's that laggy sometimes.
