RE: Monte Carlo

Wow.

What an awesome week. It's great to have the support of all of you guys. I've heard alot of great things from everyone, and only one mention of the pictures, awesome!

I'm sorry it's taken so long to post, I may have gotten a bit drunk after all of the photos and interviews were done, Shane can attest to that. Yesterday was just a long day of travel and tiredness, but it's great to finally read all of the posts and hear from everyone via email, myspace, and PM.

Thanks again to everyone who donated to the account on stars, last I heard we had raised over $8000 in trasfers and PokerStars is going to match whatever amount is donated, up to $100k. I will be donating a portion of my winnings as well.

Thanks again for all of the comments, emails, posts, and general support/good feelings.

Kind of the understatement of the year. I think the charity angle that you came up with is brilliant and it's really cool that Stars is willing to match that amount of money. Congrats again.

Did you upgrade your flight home to first class?

Re: RE: Monte Carlo

Let's see, I drank some shot that had tabasco, vodka, and an alcohol to be named later, 2 shots that were on fire, some really gay drink that Sverre gave me, and many glasses of champagne. Plus, I absorbed some through my scalp when Shane poured it on my head.

Congrats dude. I probably asked you a few times how many chips you had during day 3, and you answered politely while having no idea who I am. From the rail it seemed like you played great. Sick score.

Re: RE: Monte Carlo

yea it was awesome watching from work all week, i am on some dumb internship so i cant play all day, i would sit at my comp trying to read u every hand cuz i thought u were much better than the table. Some of the guys seemed to tighten up alot late and u made some real good plays on them. I am curious to see it on tv to see how many of my reads were on.

No problem, and it doesn't matter, but that's like knowing someone through a friend and when you're talking about his job you suddenly ask him 'so what's your yearly salary'? If he tells you, whatever, but asking just seems extremely rude to me.

PokerStars doations

Thanks to everyone who made donations to the Avon Walk for Life via PokerStars. Last they had told me, the account was over $5,000. PokerStars has decided to keep the account open for even longer so that employees of the site and anybody else who wants to donate can do so. The account name, once again, is AvonDonate. Thanks everyone.

Since it is 2+2, much better to be asked like:

Gavin please solve:

winnings - staked payouts - dealer tips - taxes - travel – buy-in - partying like a rock star (after win)- foreign government grease money - exchange fee * exchange rate = X

(It's a joke)

Why TF does it matter if I ask and why is it a dumb ass question? People like you and gobbo need to wake up and realize that backing is a standard facet of tournament poker.

If one person already asked the question and was told its not an appropriate question by people in the know, then why would you repeat it?

If he wanted to address it, he's been back to this thread and would have.

Just leave it be.

Nice new avatar Gavin. Fill it with caviar and make servants feed you.

Having sex is a standard facet of a relationship but I don't walk up to every couple I know and ask them if they [censored] last night.

Getting paid is a standard facet of a job but I don't walk up to everyone I know and say "Hey, get paid on Friday? How much?"

Re: RE: Monte Carlo

Well done young man,

I wish we could have stayed to see the end, but we had to pack. Just got back ourselves a couple of hours ago. It was a pleasure to meet you, and Kristen is way too good for you (as if you didn't already know that). I did stay up to watch the end on the webcast, I hope you get to see it with the commentary in tact. Pretty interesting stuff actually. And now I can actually say I played with the winner for a little while.

Very classy move with the donations too. Hope to see you again in Vegas this summer.
