List of eWallets for Canadians
OK, time to end all this speculation, and start a proper eWallet list. I already see quite a bit of incorrect information in other threads. This is by no means comprehensive, and needs some work, but it's a start:
Neteller - NO Firepay - NO myCitadel - NO Moneybookers - AP, b2b, Party, UB, Everest, iPoker, Microgaming (some), OnGame, Pacific, WSEX Click2Pay - AP, UB, Crypto (some), Everest, iPoker, Microgaming (some), OnGame, Boss (some), FT ePassporte - AP, Stars, UB, FT ATMOnline - UB EcoCard - iPoker, Microgaming (some) I checked all of these networks: AP, b2b, Party, Stars, UB, Paradise (none), Crypto (not all the same), Everest, iPoker, Microgaming (not all the same), OnGame, Boss (not all the same), FT, Pacific, WSEX. This covers many of the major sites. I did this either by logging in, or checking their websites. It seems, contrary to popular belief, that Moneybookers is WIDELY used, right up there with Click2Pay. I have NOT used any of these services myself. Some payment methods show up on poker room websites that they exclude US...I did not see a similar note for Canadians for any of the methods above. Hopefully they all work for us. I'd like to see us refine this list, so if anyone has any other information to add, or corrections to make, post them here and we can update this list. |
Re: List of eWallets for Canadians
I tried signing up for Click2pay, but for some reason, when I tried to register my Mastercard, they wouldnt accept it, and kept reverting back to Visa. I wonder if anyone has the solution. I have emailed them, but no answer as yet.

Re: List of eWallets for Canadians
Thanks for starting this off! I'm sure I'm not the only one wanting to figure out what the best option is nowadays.

PokerSavy now allows me to cash out points to Moneybookers, so I just put in an order...they create a new Moneybookers account for you when you do that. Unfortunately, they only process on Thursday, so I won't have a report until then. However, Savvy is very specific that US customers can not use it, no mention of Canadians. They have plenty of Canadian customers, and have had this option for a couple of months, so I'm sure if Moneybookers didn't allow Canadians, they'd have heard by now. I'm going to try to open a click2pay account tonight as well...time to start getting myself some options! |
Re: List of eWallets for Canadians
Can anyone comment on moneybookers? Their fee's and speed ect..
Any tips? Thanks. |
Re: List of eWallets for Canadians
Just receieved a PM from someone who says he has used Moneybookers for 2 1/2 years because Neteller is not available in his area...he is very happy with them. He tells me Moneybookers is good on all Primas and Boss, but I can't confirm this...maybe it depends on where you're from. I can't find any mention of Moneybookers on Fortune or Celeb's sites, but I've never played at Boss, so maybe you can do it on the cashier page. I'll add it into the list as "some" for now until I get further confirmation. As to Prima, I didn't find Moneybookers on a couple of websites, but every Microgaming client I've opened so far has Moneybookers, so I'll assume this is correct uinless I hear otherwise. So, the list now looks like this:
Moneybookers - AP, b2b, Party, UB, Everest, iPoker, Microgaming, OnGame, Boss (some), Pacific, WSEX Click2Pay - AP, UB, Crypto (some), Everest, iPoker, Microgaming (some), OnGame, Boss (some), FT ePassporte - AP, Stars, UB, FT ATMOnline - UB EcoCard - iPoker, Microgaming (some) Networks Checked so far: AP, b2b, Party, Stars, UB, Paradise (none), Crypto (not all the same), Everest, iPoker, Microgaming (not all the same), OnGame, Boss (not all the same), FT, Pacific, WSEX. |

My Prima site lists moneybookers and click2pay as withdrawal methods and I want to know the differences in fees and speed |

Moneybookers-Ladbrokes,Betfair ,on Boss only by(sportingbet) [/ QUOTE ] You're sure about Ladbrokes? I went to "banking" on their website, found a big list, and Moneybookers wasn't on it. Found it on Betfair, but it kept wanting me to choose a country - only let me choose from UK, Ireland, or Australia. Odd. Glad to hear it was Sportingbet on Boss...there's no other ewallet on Paradise aside from Neteller, so hopefully they'll have Moneybookers on Paradise once they move. If it's still worth playng there after they move, that is. |
Re: List of eWallets for Canadians
I looked into Click2Play a few weeks back, they wont let Canadians sign up under USD$ (or they would let me do it anyway). I shot them an email after I noticed that there was no option for your choice of currency.
They said that their were no exchange fees, though I am not sure if I truly believe that. I haven't opened an account there but will look into it again. Anyone else have any experience with them? |

I guess I don't need to wait for the email. Hopefully their reply about exchange fees is accurate. |
Re: List of eWallets for Canadians
Can somebody please show me where Mycitadel says Canadians can't use it for gambling?
From the Mycitadel.com website: PLEASE READ IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR U.S.-BASED myCITADEL WALLET CUSTOMERS: Citadel Commerce and its myCitadel Wallet product will cease to process any transactions originating from U.S. consumers that may be related to online gambling. This change is effective as of 3:00 PST on January 17th, 2007. U.S.-based customers will be able to continue to use their myCitadel Wallet account for any non-gaming sites, Money Transfers and Withdrawals. Please note this action only affects U.S.-based customers who transfer funds from their myCitadel Wallet to any online gaming sites. Customers located in other parts of the world (other than the United States) are not affected by this change. All transactions for these customers will operate with no disruptions. We apologize for any inconvenience resulting from this change. |
Re: List of eWallets for Canadians
OK, I've signed up for Moneybookers...piece of cake, and a US$ account was no problem. Only downside I see is that it looks like the only way to withdraw is with a Swift bank transfer for a $2.70 fee, not sure if those work here, or a cheque for a $4.70 fee. Not a big deal for me though, I never withdrew from Neteller either. That's what Party's for!
It appears you can deposit from your bank account for no fee, takes 2-5 days, or by CC for a 1.9% fee. I have an outgoing transaction limit of $1326.90 US in any 90 day period...ugh. Apparently this can be increased to 3000 Euro by verifying with a CC deposit, or 5000 Euro by verifying with a bank deposit or having them snail mail you a verification letter. Still not much; I'm just a small-timer, but I could see pushing those limits if I'm busy bonus whoring. High rollers definitely won't like those limits. I'm going to contact them and see if that can be increased over time. |

I actually just called them. Same answer... Canadians banned on 4/2. |
Re: List of eWallets for Canadians
I just signed up for moneybookers and hooked them up to my bank account and did a $100 test withdrawal from battle to moneybookers.
After this I read something about sending limits, the highest you can have is $5000 EUR per 90day rolling period???? I withdraw more than that a week, does this mean I cannot count on them or is that merely for outside sending not sending to my email? They don't seem to have any online help? |
Re: List of eWallets for Canadians
For those of you that have already signed up, what kind of limits does Click2Pay have on their transfers? What is the maximum withdrawal/deposit allowed in a specified period of time?

moneybookers I can't find my SWIFT code for registrating my bank account, I don't think it's on that network... It's not the main branch in my city. Does this mean it won't work for me I will have to use my credit card?
Or could I not register my bank account/visa and just withdrawl from a pokersite and move it to another would that work, or would that raise flags? |

[/ QUOTE ] I'd love to, but this forum software doesn't allow it. You have a set period of time, I'm not sure how long, and then you can't edit your post anymore. I've always hated that. Maybe the forum upgrade in a couple of weeks will remedy that, or maybe 2+2 prefers it that way...I could see how allowing changes long after the fact could cause problems at times. |

[/ QUOTE ] If I understand your question correctly, the problem will be that most (all?) sites won't allow you to withdraw to a funding method that you didn't deposit with. IE if you only deposited at Site A with Neteller, the site will only let you withdraw to Neteller. Presumably that may change when Netller is shut down for us, or they might make us make a small deposit from another funding method first...or issue us a cheque. If anyone discovers any sites that will let you withdraw to Moneybookers or Click2pay without depositing that way first, please let us know...that would be very hand information to have. |

[/ QUOTE ] Yeah, I wasn't sure how to handle individual sites in bigger networks...this list could become quite unwieldly if we try listing every single site. I figured it would be a good list to give people an idea what their best choices were for eWallets, and if they wanted to know about individual sites on one of those networks, they might have to check for themselves. It seems in this case, the Cryptos that use ecash (Sun, IP, etc) use click2pay. I'll edit the list to that effect. |

As to your question, yes, there is a 5000 Euro limit from what I can see. I was going to send them an email and see if they will increase that over time/with more security/what have you. In your case, you might have to use an eWallet just for bonuses and such, and get your money out via cheque or EFT. I think a lot of these ewallets have limits, but I guess we'll figure that all out over the next few days. |

Re: List of eWallets for Canadians
Can someone with an epassport account explain the ins and outs to me. From what I understand I would be forced to purchase a Visa Card because they do not allow direct withdrawals to a CDN bank account (must be US). Not to mention the fees are huge. If I'm not interpreting this correctly please set me on the right path.
I have an affiliate who only uses Neteller and epassport which doesn't leave me much of a choice. Comments? |

Is it possible to deposit into PokerStar using epassporte without a credit card? |
Re: List of eWallets for Canadians
I guess I have made so many withdrawals previously to Neteller. There was a edit withdrawal method button when I hit bank--> withdraw.
Also, what is RAF? Also, 14kEuro is still not enough in a rolling 90day period, I need a lot higher. |
Re: List of eWallets for Canadians
Don't forget, US players just went through this, so you guys might find answers to questions in regards to ePassporte and paper cheques in the exisiting lengthy threads...of course with the exception of when it relates to Canadian currency/bank accounts.
MSD, yes...there should be a thread or two here already in regards to PStars cheques. ePassporte, no idea, but there is an official thread that may help you. |

I'm not sure WHAT the solution will be for anyone moving high volumes...I'm not positive, but I think all of the remaining eWallets have similar limits. |

However, 2+2 doesn't allow us to ask for/offer referrals in posts (for good reason), so I'll leave it at that. BTW, Happy Birthday! |

Re: List of eWallets for Canadians
Here's the help section on click2pay's website...it actually looks like it might be pretty nice. Anybody have any info about limits, service, etc? They state explicitly that you set your own spending limit over the phone with them after you sign up, but they never mention withdrawal limits anywhere.

Done forget, everyone...this list is FAR from gospel. I have tried NONE of these options yet...much of this is just what I've gleaned from poker rooms' websites, or from the poker clients' cashiers. Any and all input would be most welcome. |
